  • [QUESTIONS] My front windscreen is sticky, what should I apply?

    Hi All,

I just change my windscreen to the new because get stone hit on that. I found that my windscreen quite a sticky like a "Glue" and I hard to remove by using NXT Car Wash as well. So, I try use the to apply on that and the sticky can remove easily and become smooth. But after couple of weeks, the problem come back again, so I have questions as below,

    (1) Is that any recommendation which product I can apply on that to solve the problem?
    (2) From my windscreen, there have a small portion have some scor-tape mark with adhesive on the windscreen, can I apply some alcohol to remove it?
    (3) How can I easily maintain my all screen?
    (4) From agent of meguairs, he recommended me use the Ultimate Compound to remove that, is that workable?

    Thanks all buddies.

i've gotten wd-40 on my windshield before, all it is is an oil based product. i would spray it on a microfiber towel and the rub down the windshield, then use a glass cleaner afterwords. No harm will be done.

WD 40 isn't quite an oil.
It's a Water Displacement formula, designed to displace water, sort of a cleaner. The name comes from the companies 40th attempt at a Water Displacement formula.
WD 40 works well on metals and should be safe on glass. Try not to get it on your paint as it may displace wax/polish/cleaner as well.

Been a while since I have posted on here. I am slightly confused. Why not try claying your windshield? Do not understand the need for wd 40? If there is a residue on your windshield, why not remove it. Clay has always worked well for me. If I am missing something please let me know.

If the concern regarding the oily nature of wd40 is a concern, i'd just use dawn/toothpaste and rinse it well then apply ultimate quik wax or some spray wax that's easy or usable on windscreens
