  • [DISCUSS] Ultimate Compound or SwirlX?

    Hi All,

My car just apply product below as sequence (1 month ago):

    (1) NXT Generation Car Wash (Purple color)

    (2) After dry, i apply 1st layer of soft 99 products by using Bosch Orbitary

    (3) After that clean with Microfiber and apply the NXT Generation Tech Wax (Paste type) with Bosch Orbitary

Now my car after wash with NXT Car Wash, the rain drop mark still stick on my car body and I have questions below and my car condition is parking at non-covered car park almost 2 weeks didn't move my car from my car park lot
    (1) Why will happen on that?
    (2) Why the car shampoo above cannot clear on those sticky rain mark?
    (3) What is the best way and steps to remove it again? (I don't mind wax again)
    (4) From the agent of meguairs recommended me use the Ultimate compound or Swirl X to remove that. If yes, which one better?
    (5) What is the correct steps for using Ultimate Compound and refresh my car body?

    Please advice me on that.

    Thanks all buddies.

Well I would just go ahead and work Ultimate compound in either by hand with some type of applicator pad or use your Bosch orbital with a yellow foam polishing pad or the equivalent, although I have no idea of the speed settings on the Bosch. That should remove the rain drop etchings, if that is what you're talking about. Make sure you wash your car before this step, and wax after.

Nxt wash doesn't remove it because it isn't designed to.

To use Ultimate Compound, apply a small amount to an applicator and start rubbing a small area. Do not let the product dry. Wipe off as soon as it feels "grippy" when you are working it in.

      Hi thanks ur feedback.
So which means Ultimate Compound will have better effect than SwirlX?

After apply Ultimate Compound, once feel the "grippy", I need to wipe off immediately? Between this period, how long that I should start to apply the Tech Wax?

      Thanks

Yes, Ultimate Compound is more aggressive, so it will work better and give quicker results.

Yes, keep rubbing the Ultimate Compound in a circular/back and forth/ up down motion in a small area, about 1 foot by 1 foot area. As soon as it starts feeling grippy, wipe off with a towel. You can repeat this multiple times, it depends how good you want your paint finish. When the paint looks good enough to you, you can go ahead and apply NXT Wax.

What you need to do is remove the water spots you currently have with the Ultimate Compound. Now, to keep the water spots from coming back, and to make them easier to remove in the future (maybe with just car wash soap), wax the surface, and wax it like once a month since you said the car is always outside. This may help prevent water etching. In my family we have 2 cars that have to stay outside all the time, and they have no water spot etches on them. Just keep the surface waxxed and maintain it.
