    Ult. Compound...

ScratchX 2.0 is a bit milder than UC ,and sold in smaller bottles.

Cleaner/Wax is extremely mild, and wont really do anything.

^ Murr....what do you think of SwirlX for water marks? Too mild?

Re: cleaner wax or Scratch X 2.0

Generally, I would have a mild product (SwirlX, Ult. Polish, Polishing Compound, etc) and a strong product (#105, UC, Rubbing Compound) on hand, so I could pick which to use. Lots of variables as we know with paint, and severity of defects.

And we have working by hand or machine, which will change things. The Cleaner/Wax could remove some defects by machine in some situations. Even by hand if the paint was bizarrely soft.

But since most people asking a basic question will be working by hand on regular factory cars, UC would be my choice. SwirlX by hand is going to be more work on deeper defects, and water marks are often deep. And esp by hand, I can lighten up applying UC to make it milder, or many people will be fairly light anyway.

So, hopefully that rambling made sense. Given only one bottle to use, I'd pick the UC.

Hmmm, ok....I just have a need to buy stuff....so i ended up with 2 bottles of SwirlX and 2 bottles of UC.
          I also have a GG DA, both the 6" & 3" models....and a assortment of foam pads. (megs/ GG, buff& shine)
I just need to use up my 2 bottles of swirlX....very hard when my 3 vehicles are in good shape...

Well, working by machine will add some power/force, and SwirlX could easily remove things that would have been a pain by hand.

And certainly nothing wrong with it for a regular mild cleaner. You can always lighten up pressure, work a little bigger area, etc to make it even milder. Just not quite as much oils as the #205/Ult. Polish.
