  • What paints can Ultimate Liquid Wax be used on?

I've just read an Amazon review saying that UW should only be used on Metallics, how accurate is this?

My car isn't a metallic nor pearlescent. It's a flat glossy paint, more specifically Honda's oldest colour still being used - Milano Red.

Here's the colour in question: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=milano+red&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=596l1829l0l2029l10l7l0l0l0l1l524l2578l3-3.0.3l6l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1600&bih=799&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi#um=1&hl=en&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=Honda+milano+red&pbx=1&oq=Honda+milano+red&aq=f&aqi=&aql=1&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=15490l16067l0l16114l6l4l0l0l0l1l297l484l0.1.1l2l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=2f31d2b7117b7fee&biw=1600&bih=799

Can UW be used on a paint of this type?

UW wax or any Meguiar's waxes are safe for ALL paint types. This includes both metallics and non-metallics in either the base coat clear coat paint system or the single stage paint system.

^ Is that the wheel off a V6 Accord?

So basically, this is what I'm planning to do on my never clayed/waxed 3 year old car.

Generic Wash - Smooth Surface Clay - Swirl Remover 2.0 - Ultimate Wax

      Does that sound good?

Do I need any more or any less?

Yes you're right! The wheel is from the 8th generation Accord. My car is an I4 though but the V6 has the same wheel setup.

That sounds like a great plan! You have the correct steps to do a proper detail. Have you tried using Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish? If you haven't I suggest you try them out because they will give you amazing results. Do you have both these products available to you? If you're planning to get those two products then I would suggest doing the following steps:

Wash -> Smooth Surface Clay Kit -> Ultimate Compound - > Ultimate Polish -> Ultimate Wax.

What color is your car? Please don't forget to share with us some pictures of your results!

        Hope this helps.

I actually didn't order Ultimate Compound and Polish as I thought that Compound was for paint restorations and that my Swirl Remover 2.0 acted kind of like a SwirlX + Polish?

I have a 8th Generation Milano Red Accord (JDM/EU version).

I was actually tossing up between the Smooth Surface Clay Kit or a Paint Restoration Kit (as it had the Ultimate compound) but I went with the Clay kit as it had more clay (80g x 2 vs. 25g bar) and I didn't think I would have use for the Ultimate Compound.

o you think the Restoration Kit would have been a better choice?

It really depends on the severity of defects you want to remove. If you have very minor swirls then swirl remover 2.0 would probably be ok. If you are still unsatisfied with your results after using this product then you need to step up to a stronger cleaner such as Ultimate Compound. Always use the least aggressive method first. After the paint cleaning has been accomplished, I would still try using Ultimate Polish since you have a darker colored car. That paint should pop after using this product.
