Base before UQW?

I have been using the UQW and I'm pretty impressed. I have been using it by itself and now I'm looking for more gloss. I assume UQW is best used as maintenance, so my question is, what should I use under it? I have considered the NXT 2.0 and have also read about M7. Like everyone, I want the deepest, glossy, reflective shine I can get. The base coat is Orange and is in excellent shape. Also no swirls or scratches in the clear. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered. I am overwhelmed with the amount of information here.

After a little more searching, I'm thinking M7 glaze or UP followed by NXT 2.0 and QD and UQW for maintenance. Good combo? Also, I use GC wash.

A pure polish or glaze and Car wax (paste or liquid) will be good for your car.

Before anything else, i'd clay bar your car's paint.

Meguiars #7 is good, I actually got myself one yesterday. It is a bit tricky to use, if it dries it can be difficult to remove. It takes a bit of practice, but it is worth it! You can also use deep crystal polish, its sort of consumer version of m7. Both have no abrasives, just polishing oils. Since your paint seems to be in good shape, a pure polish like m7 should do the trick. Ultimate polish can help if your car has swirls or imperfections. Its like Deep crystal and SwirlX mixed together.

For your wax, you can try NXT 2.0 either in paste or liquid. Ultimate wax if you see some pics and read some threads gives a deeper gloss than NXT 2.0. NXT 2 gives a brighter gloss, its look may be slightly better for your car vs. Ultimate wax.

Both the Deep Crystal and UP claim to be formulated for darker colors, which is why I was also considering M7. Some people have claimed the NXT 2.0 works really well with the UP though. My car is metallic orange, so it probably doesn't have the same needs as the dark colors. I have already clay'd the car, but may need to do so again when I remove the existing wax to start fresh.

Well, I bought some UP to try. The M7 was right next to it and it was a hard decision, but I have seen several posts claiming great results with UP and NXT 2.0 together. Probably give it a shot tomorrow.

For me, even if the difference is small when glaze/polish is applied on light colors, in my eyes it gives a more "complete" look. Even on orange, i bet you'll see an almost dripping wetness due to the glaze or polish. A small difference to me is still a difference that i like to see and know that i did a thorough job. The disadvantage of ultimate polish if there was one is the presence of abrassives that may not be necessary on good condition paints. Pure polishes won't "cut" through the paint.

I want to try my M7 as soon as the weather allows it. Its been raining too much the past few days here

Couldn't wait. Did It last night. Wash, clay, wash, dry, UP, NXT. Turned out really good. I would still like to have a little wetter look, but that's nit picking. My wife said she didn't think I would get it any glossier and is amazed at the results.
