Nxt......

So Friday I finally decided to detail my car, clayed it, polished it and finally used NXT.....outcome WOW....

Saturday it rained in the morning and then the sun came out strong...so I decided to rinse the car and wipe it down with WAX as You Dry........MISTAKE..... .all my work had now become a car filled with different shades of black, so after trying to kick myself in the butt I took a break and thought out a plan of attack.

I re-applied the NXT with my PC ( took about a 10 minutes for the entire car), waited 15 like the bottle read and buffed it with the wool bonnett..............done deal back to perfect.

Moral of the story...NXT don't mix well with others...anyone experience this yet?.

i havnt had that problem at all but my colour isnt as dark so it would be harder to tell on my car,,maybe on even coverage with the wax as u dry?

So did you wash, then apply the wax as you dry? Or just rinse, then apply. If you just rinsed then applied, we have a problem with the technique not the product. I would not touch my car with anything unless it was perfectly clean.

The wool bonnet IMO is NOT a good idea. If you are going to use your PC for product removal invest in some MF bonnets.

FWIW, I have had no problem using WAUD with NXT. I wash the car, apply it to a section, then wipe with microfiber.

It had been maybe 12 hours since I had detailed the car...meaning all of the procedures done in that order, so the next morning after the sun came out and the standing water on the car was begining to evaporate I rinsed the car and using microfiber towels I sprayed the one section at at time and wiped...now I thought the car looked great at 1st glance but when I parked it away from the house and stared at the doors I thought that the discoloration was just a reflection of the house but upon closer inspection it was discoloration...

As far as the wool bonnets ...I will try your suggestion, I don't think the bonnets had anything to do with the discoloration since I used them after the second application of NXT.... ...and another thing I think black cars are the hardest color to hide imperfections.....

If it works for you go for it.

I don't think it is a good idea to touch a car if it has been outside for 1 hour, let alone 12 hours. Even if you rinsed it there would still be a chance that some form of contaminant needed agitation for complete removal. IMO WAUD should only be applied to a perfectly clean surface. I understand that this may or may not have contributed to the "discoloration," but it came to mind.

About the black cars, tell me about it. It is good for all detailers to own at least one black before they call themselves a "detailer."

Thanks for your thoughts ebpcivicsi, I've owned a 2000 MRSi and too was a problem color...next time I will get a silver car...even when dirty it looks good.....

(Not to get off the subject what mods or where else can I see your car?....love those 2000 Si's......wish I still had one as a second car... )
