  • NXT Generation Tech Wax - Bad for Paint?

I use Meguiar's products, but not the NXT Generation Tech Wax, yet.

I have been searching the internet for car wax information, and I came across a theory someone had about NXT Generation Tech Wax. This is not "my theory", just something I read.

The theory was that "since it is synthetic (with a lot of silicone), and not carnuba wax based, that it can penetrate too deeply into the paint".

This, in turn, seals the paint too completely, keeping the paint from "breathing" and thus sealing in moisture which can damage the paint and make it permanently cloudy.

Also, this deep penetration (which can reach the bare metal) and sealing can cause a new paint job (a re-painting) done on your vehicle, not to stick to the car.

This theory about the NXT Generation Tech Wax (liquid and paste), seems a bit strange.

Do any of you have any ideas about this information/theory I read?

I have heard good things about the NXT Generation Tech Wax and would love to use it when the weather permits.

I would be very surprised if any of the above had even an element of truth in it
If you can guess how many coins are in my pocket I will give you both ;-)

Have no fear, Meguiar's chemists have over 100 years of experience creating products that outperform the competition. Ever since cars have been manufactures, Meguiar's has and continues to work with with car manufactures as well as paint manufactures with their automotive finishes giving Meguiar's a unique background that other companies only wish for.

Besides that, when you use Meguiar's you're part of a group that trusts in Meguiar's quality and legacy to show case create for you a true show car shine. For instance Meguiar's products have been used by more Best of Class and Best of Show winners at the Pinnacle of all car shows, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance for longer than records have been kept. These people take their car's very serious, including the paint, so if you don't mind being associated with this crowd, then when you use Meguiar's, you're in good company.

Irvine, CA. Once again, almost all of the cars (21 out of 24) that won "Best of Class" honors at the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, as well as the car that won Pebble's coveted "Best of Show" trophy, achieved their flawless appearances using Meguiar's products.

          It's an internet theory.

Hot and cold weather isn't caused by convection currents in the air, I don't think. I theorize that there is a large hot demon, and a large cold demon, and they are constantly fighting. Every now and then, one of them knocks the other one down and gets the opportunity to blow either warm or cold air over the earth. Everything else is just scientific propoganda; it's what they want you to believe, so they get those big government grants.

And don't ask about rain, you don't want to know.

If this is true (I sure don't belive it is) what about all the other synthetic waxes? or... How about the sealants the dealers put on that clain to last several years, they would sure have to be "deep" in to the paint. I think some people have too much time on their hands and start making up all this stuff.

That theory was probably started by someone who sells only carnauba waxes!

Most myths (Internet or otherwise) have a little truth/fact to them (emphasis on little. This one however has absolutly no basis of truth at all.(Slow day in Alaska perhaps)

Mosca- thanks for clearing that up for me, I love to hear aboout the rain demon sometime LOL

NXT has been on all my vehicles and clients vehicles for well over a year now. I guess the paint will start falling off any day now.
