  • UWax how long to dry

With the new Ultimate wax how long can I wait before taking it off? With Gold Class or NXT I usually apply a coat to the entire car or truck or both and then take a break or do some other items on the vehicle. So I end up leaving it on an hour or more sometimes. Seems to work just fine and comes off clean and easy. With UW everyone talks about putting it on and getting it off quickly with a very short dry time. Any reason not to leave it on longer?

Since this is a sealant, does having a layer of oil like a #7 polish under it reduce the bonding effect?

    Thanks,

I routinely wait an hour or two and no problems whatsoever. Due to an error on my part I needed to re-do a rear quarter panel and waited over eight hours and no problem then either.

There shouldn't be a problem putting it over M07, I've also routinely put it over Ultimate Polish. Meguiar's has indicated their products are cross compatible and using 07 doesn't mean oils are floating around on surface that might prevent adhesion. The surface of clean coat is not impervious.

Perhaps someone more experienced with M07 will comment.

From the Ultimate Wax Quik Tips Video, you only need 3-5 minutes for it to cure before wiping it off.

Thanks Wifpd4. I was assuming it would be no problem to wait longer to wipe off the UW. But as with every new product it never hurts to ask a few questions. I have applied NXT over #7 and it really made it go on smooth and I had no problems. I had some waxes years ago that either you took it off soon after it set up or it never came off. Didn't think that was the case here but everyone was talking about getting it off so quickly I was starting to wonder.
