  • my ultimate compound experience

I picked up a bottle of ultimate compound Because I had scratch x, but it was old and didnt seem like it was useable anymore. So onto using it. I started out by washing the car with meguiars gold class wash and drying it with a griot's garage drying towel. My paint is already pretty deep and glossy when it's cleaned up. ( black 1996 BMW 328i) I applied it by hand using a microfiber applicator pad underneath the door handles, trunk, and Hood as well as some problem areas on the body. I was really impressed with the results! It doesn't scratch up the paint and takes out the majority of the fine scratches. I was most impressed with how the underneath of the door handles turned out. I Then applied a quik wax base to replace some wax temporarily. I can't wait to da the whole car and use my ultimate Polish and whatever wax I pick up. I'm torn between the nxt 2.0 and the ultimate liquid wax.

sounds like the UC worked well for you! do you have any pics?

I have been using the UC and UP on somewhat beat up with my DA and the results are fantastic!!!! any marring or minor swirls left by the UC are easily removed with the UP and the finish is slick and shiny! I have pics in the Extreme Makeover section, under 'work in progress'

I've had a couple of "stubborn places" on a couple of vehicles that were swirled pretty bad. M105 with a DA will do the job but it's a little finicky to work with. I put a little UC on the pad along with a little M105 and it gets the job done.

What I have found with this UC/M105 product "combo" is longer work time and no M105 splatter to clean up. It does dust (a very little bit) but I can live with that.

Go with UC liquid or paste.
