  • NXT on a F150

I finally was able to find some NXT Tech Wax at a Walmart. They had the Tech Wax and Booster but no wash or protectant

So I decided to purchase some and give it a try after seeing some great reviews on the product here on the forum.

Over the past two weeks I have had the chance to try it on two vehicles, 1997 Ford F150 (Red) and a 2000 Toyota 4Runner (Metallic Silver). I must say that I am pretty impressed with this product.

Both vehicles were done with no prep whatsoever. Just a basic wash and wax. I plan on doing a full detail (clay, swirl removal, etc) when it gets warmer.

On the F150 I applied it with a PC and a polishing pad. On the 4Runner I did it by hand. The wax was very easy to put on and take off. I waited approximately 30 minutes for removal and had no issues with hazing etc.

The NXT really brought out the metal flake in the silver on the 4Runner. Unfortunately, I did it while I was away and didn't have my cam.

This morning after waxing the truck yesterday, I qd'd the F150 with some Megs Final Detail.

All and all I think Meguiars has a winner... For an over the counter and commercially available product its great.

    Here are some results:

You can actually see the 4Runner in this pic:

          Hi Pats300zx,

In the above picture, your truck’s finish looks like it's wet. That's a feature in a wax I know I really like. Applying with the PC gives the Tech Wax produces amazing results. When you get a chance, apply a second coat, it will bring the first coats results up to a little higher level.

Then maintain with periodic applications of Spray Wax, and Tech Wax. Like you say, because it's easy to apply, relatively inexpensive, (and as time goes by it will become more and more easy to find in local stores), all these factors make keeping your finish looking like a show car a practical reality.

By the way, what do you think of your results on the metallic finish on your 4Runner?

Mike it really made the silver flake come out in the paint. The funny thing was that the next day the paint even looked better.

I wish I had my cam with me to take pics. I ended up finding some NXT down near our vacation home. Figures by the time I got home it had rained.

Interesting that you say that as I made the same observation on my Chestnut Brown truck. The first day was great but, after the second day, I noticed that the color was deeper and the gloss came up to another level.

My suspecion is that the product has a little bit of time to 'set' and 'cure' on the vehicle and thus produces a more complete, deep, and even shine.

              NXT is a GREAT product!
