How well will it hold up? Will it bond to the surface or should I use a wheel specific wax? Got them looking great with UP, now I want them to stay that way and clean up without a lot of work.

Re: Ultimate Wax on G6 GXP wheels?
UW should actually hold up better than any of our other waxes, but keep in mind this is a very harsh environment. Brake dust is hot when it lands on the wheels so it can basically "burn" through any wax or sealant you've applied. If your brakes don't spew dust like many German cars often do then it can help to make clean ups a bit quicker, especially if you regularly use a quick detail spray to clean your wheels between washes. Just keep in mind that spraying a wheel cleaner like All Wheel Cleaner or Wheel Brightener will strip that wax pretty efficiently.Michael Stoops

Re: Ultimate Wax on G6 GXP wheels?
I've recently become a big fan of waxing wheels. I don't use a dedicated wheel product, just a good sealant. I last used any kind of wheel cleaner on my winter driver back in December. Since then it's been nothing but either ONR or GC wash, and they've always come clean. I personally try to avoid any of the strong wheel cleaners, but sometimes it's the only route you can take to get the job done. Keeping a decent coat of wax /sealant on your wheels, IMO, greatly extends the interval between cleanings.
Well worth the investment in time and materials.

Re: Ultimate Wax on G6 GXP wheels?
Thanks guys. I cleaned them with UP which seems to be better than strong cleaners. Cleaners leave spots and I have to go back with something else and polish them up. I put a coat of M21 on one wheel to see how it holds up and releases brake dust when I wash again. As soon as I get UW I'll use that.

I go with mild like Aluminum Wheel Cleaner or sometimes soap and water, with the once or twice a year SwirlX, UC, etc.
Keep in mind you will have to go with the soap and water next time, or else the wax will be gone.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Shampoo Plus and a brush is all I ever need on mine!
Some customer cars get WB 4:1, like my cousin's C240 and F150... HOLF BRAKE DUST!
