Awesome write up, Ryan - thanks for taking the time to document your process so thoroughly. Good stuff.

I hear you on paying for the year around warm weather. But just lately...maybe I'm getting "older" but this cold stuff is getting to me...going down to 7° tonight...and only up to 18° tomorrow for a high! AHH!

Today my first new Meguiars product arrived - the Ultimate polish. I'll be staring at that bottle on the shelf for the next month or so...sigh.

Good point BS MXRacer...I'm sure that's Meguiars response as well. I guess it would also be wise to keep them protected when not in use...very easy for debris to get picked up by the towel especially and not be seen.

Looks like rain is coming this week, I expect to take some pictures of water beading and give a full report on how the finish holds up.

( MODS, a side note if this thread could be moved to 2011 Product Reviews, that would be great)

            UPDATE ON WATER BEADING

The water beading of the Ultimate Wax is quite good as you can tell. These pictures are from the most recent rain in So Cal.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

is UW as easy to take off by hand as NXT 2.0?

                also, with a D/A,
do I use the soft "black" finishing pad for application and taking the UW off?

My experience with it was that when I applied a properly thin coat left to fully cure wipe off wasn't anymore difficult to remove than a perfectly clean surface, zero extra drag from the wax on the surface.

For applying by DA you still use the Black finishing pad. To remove it you can use a microfiber bonnet over a cutting or polishing pad or by hand with a MF towel.

                      Re: Ultimate Liquid Wax Tips

To answer above, Ultimate Wax is one of the easiest waxes to apply and remove. I now have used it by hand and D/A. Both results were excellent.

Even though I applied with with the D/A I prefer to remove all my products by hand. More of a preference.

From where things stand I always like to re-apply after a heavy so. california rain, so I figure 4 to 6 weeks. In the mean time I will use Ultimate Quick wax to give the paint back some slickness if anything lost after a wash.

***On a side note, how many are using Ultimate Wash and Wax with the Ultimate Wax?

I applied Ultimate Wax this past Saturday and then we had that heavy mist. I'll be washing my Tahoe probably this weekend. I always use Ultimate Wash & Wax.

OP you mentioned you had a clear bra any issues with wax building up on the edges of the clear bra?

I just got a new clear bra installed and I'm extremely diligent to avoid going near the edges with a liquid wax. Ultimate quick wax I have no worries.
