I was thinking about applying 2 coats of NXT next time I wax my Jetta, but I was curious if anybody has ever had the problem of dust/loose contaminants settling on the surface after waiting 12 hours for cure time. I would keep it in the garage which is pretty clean, but just curious to hear from someone who has done 2 coats and waited the recommended 12 hours cure time. I just don't want to QD the surface and mess up the polymers that have set up.

QD before second coat of NXT?

Use a car cover
Between coats of NXT, I typically wait twelve hours and just throw a car cover over the car to keep dust away. I typically wax my cars at night so I pull up a section of the car cover and apply NXT. This way, I can take a week or longer to complete the job.
Hope that helps.

I always use a good slick QD before additonal coats of any wax for a couple of reasons. First, I think it helps "insure" that the surface is free of "anything" that could be on the paint surface that shouldn't be there. Secondly, I actually think the QD aids in the application of the wax, as it makes the surface slicker. To me, It seems like I can apply a thinner, more uniform coat of the wax after a good QD. Of course, it could be "all in my head"!Boss_429

its all in the prep!I always QD before putting more wax. too much dust and contaminants on the surface.
