  • Just got Speed Detailer

I popped in Advanced auto tonight and there was the nxt paste and also the speed detailer.

Make sure you are sitting down, because i have never used any kind of detail spray before. I have picked up various bottles and read what they do, but it never really clicked why i shouldnt just wash the vehicle.

Ok, i just tried it. WHOA!, now i get it !!!

I still am not too sure about wiping off dust, or anything else for that matter, with a dry micro and some detail spray, especially sinse i spent 14 hours doing 2 step polish jobs on my 2 cars,

..., but i held my breath and tried it. It was really unbelievable. I ended up going to get another micro cause the one i was using was getting damp. I dont really know what die hard detail spray people are expecting, but i was in amazement that it didnt scratch my paint, it cleaned everything that was on the paint that didnt belong there, and it dried up without a single streak.

Now, my car is outside 24-7. Every morning i have dew all over it, then i park it at a dusty place. I washed my car on sunday before adding another coat of NXT to it, so it did have some "uglies" on it.

Without appling much or any pressure at all it lifted the **** off.

Water spots on my windows? Gone!

This stuff is better than any glass cleaner i have ever tried to use.

*Mike can i use this on the inside of my windows?

Anyways, i am rambling, i am excited,oh ya -the stuff smells great too.

Glad to hear you like the new Speed Detailer! As far as using it on the inside of you car or truck on glass goes, it's not really for that, instead we just introduced an awesome new Glass Cleaner,

Excellent, i almost forgot about the glass cleaner

I do have a question about the correct way to use the speed detailer though.

Say i am doing a 2x2 area for example, is it important for all of the 2x2 area to have a mist on it, so as to avoid any marring?

Or will a dampened micro pick up any slack where there isnt product applied to the surface?

        Hi JeffM,

To answer your question, as long as you have the majority of the 2'x2' area covered with product, the MF dampened already with product, should do the rest. I would be sure not to rub hard. Use light side to side motions.

        Cheers!

          I want that Glass cleaner

We are severely lacking in most of the products here in Aus.

I might go whinge to Megiuars here.

I'm guessing it varies by area but any idea on when the new speed detailer and glass cleaner will be available in the store?? I know some people have already gotten it but I haven't even seen it anywhere yet.

Believe me, the Speed Detailer is worth trying. Even with a damp MF, no streaks. And it smells good too!

I just used Speed Detailer for the second time yesterday. The first time I tried it, I was having some streaking problems, but I figured it may just be the cold (~15F). Yesterday was in the mid 30s, and everything was so much easier, and it looks great.

A question, though, since it advertises "ESP Technology", and the bottle says it enhances protection. How much protection does this product give you? I assume it's probably somewhat less than the spray wax, but since I find that product somewhat of a pain to use, this could be a great alternative.
