  • Ultimate Compound = WOW!

Last Saturday my youngest aunt celebrated her 70th birthday with a large meet and greet/pot luck dinner at her church. While we were inside someone apparently used my trunk lid as a table to hold a box or boxes. They dragged them to the end of the trunk to take them off. I surmised this by looking at the marks they left behind. Sunday morning I did a quick ONR wash on the trunk and surrounding areas only (she had just been washed on Thursday afternoon.) followed by a quick clay bar. I wiped the lid down, set up my lights and went to town. I did two passes with a white CCS pad on my GG DA polisher set at speed 5. At the end of the second set of passes I let the weight of the machine hold the pad on the surface and man did it make my lid shine. M105/M205 are my favorite, but Ultimate Compound to me has found a new spot in my arsenal of goodies. Two thumbs up

Sorry no before pics, but here is what I ended up with:

I then applied two coats of NXT 2.0 for winter followed on Monday AM with a coat of Gold Class Liquid Carnauba wax from the paint restoration kit.

The beauty of Ultimate Compound is that it offers long buffing cycle.

In most cases, with proper technique on DA polisher, it falls not much below M105 speaking about defect removal ability and it leaves surface LSP ready.

I agree totally plus I loved the fact that there was ZERO dusting.

Thank you and I agree. What would possess anyone's mind to think it OK to set something on someone else's car instead of their own? Heck, I didn't even get angry, instead I looked at it as an opportunity to have more garage time.

Fantastic work. I love that UC can finish off so well.

A friend of mine did the same thing with their backpack one time and I almost tackled them.

                Re: Ultimate Compound = WOW!

Its very easy to use (compared to other compounds). I've used (sample sachet only) on a few panels on the car by hand and the results are still nice. At the moment, i have swirl-x and again, the same thing. Easy to use, nice results. After using those by hand, and while it was abit easy, i realized how much easier wax is to apply (naturally! hehe). A good product from meguiars.. I would use this together with swirlX.. the 2 step buffing with these 2 consumer products. If i have enough time, i'd buff our cars with these 2 compounds, then apply DC2 (or ultimate polish), then NXT 2.0.

Too bad you didn't see who did that to your truck. Your were already at a church so you could have had their funeral there as well. Nice save on the paint!
