Re: Hoping to different brand, unhappy with Turtle Wax
their rubbing compound is actually good too.. i think its easily as aggressive as the ultimate compound or more but the UC is abit easier to use. Thats a big plus when working by hand. This is where megs has an edge, unfortunately for turtle wax.

I do like their Zip Wax car wash actually.
Cleans pretty well and has a nice clean scent, foams well too.

Re: Hoping to different brand, unhappy with Turtle Wax
turtle wax isn't the best wax out there, but i've used their products before and i think its more than good enough. On a brilliantly prepped car, i don't think anyone can say that "ah, that paint looks like its been protected by turtle wax" or something.
One particular tw i like is the platinum series. As easy on easy off as some synthetic wax i've used. It doesn't have cleaning properties from my experience. Almost just pure wax. But its user friendly, and provides a good even gloss to the paint.
I have no experience with the Ice polish.. I think platinum series is the best TW product. The ICE is too new for me (well, the ICE wax). I would try the paste version of it in time.

I just want to say that Turtle Wax is not ****. Look at this thread where I discuss two TW products and you tell me if the final product is ****: http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/sho...eriment&page=2

So now im jumping into Meguiar products... so anyone got some good suggestion on how i can fix my paint?
If you are determined to do this by hand then you will definitly need ultimate compound or meguiars rubbing compound.

How To Remove Swirls By Hand (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7011) The below write-up was taken from page three of this Saturday Detailing Class at Meguiar's where approximately 25 people witnessed the products shown below, applied and removed using the correct techniques to remove the

So while I was in PepBoys, I couldn't help but pick up a tub of these new compounds. While the rocks in a can version from another manufacturer has suited me well in various applications, I wanted to see how well these suited up. So here ya go! The first thing I noticed was these were actually wrapped unlike the

Just a wax spreader... LOL Technique is everything! but you never hear the same 2 words together in the same sentence...I'm talking about the orbital buffer(the wax spreader) & technique. I guess without knowing the right technique to use with the orbital that's all you can do is just spead some wax around! Here's the

I would not buy products by other companies in FULL price, other than Meguiar's. Sure, I have Mother's FX and Turtle Wax ICE, but they were at clearance price when I bought them.
Meguiar's products are always consistent on quality, and more importantly satisfactory.

I have like swirl Marks all over the car through (Swirls Marks are the ones u cant see if ur not like staring at the paint and if it's under the direct sunlight it shows up alot right?
Also yes i have the Swirl-X and Nxt Tech Wax 2.0. I used Swirl-X eariler this week with a 20$ Turtle Wax buffer idk if it improved anything... but i still see those swirl marks under direct sunlight....
Anyone got some good techniques for me to do by HAND?

Swirl-x should take care of your problems. I have a 09 Altima. The paint is very easy to work with. Nxt2.0 works also. Good luck.
Remember small sections and a lot of elbow grease.

I would also recommend working in small sections if you are working by hand. Good luck !!

Go ahead and check that what you have is swirl x. Do a test spot on your car and then take a look at it in the sun. If it gets the job done, then go with that, but if there are still some swirls left, then grab some Ultimate Compound and go to work with that.

to MOL fenderpicks. Just a friendly reminder that in the future you shouldn't bash competitor brands, but you certainly are allowed to say it didn't work for you.
Seeing that it didn't work for you, I'm sure that we can point you in the right direction with the proper Meguiar's Products.
Could we get a little background info before we start making suggestions? What type of car are you working on? What color is the paint? How severe are the swirls and scratches?
You will probably wanting to pick up some ultimate compound to remove the swirls and scratches. Depending on the clarity of your paint after using ultimate compound, you may want to follow it up with Swirl X to make it crystal clear, but this step may not even be necessary if your paint looks clear after Ultimate Compound. After that, use your favorite wax, such as NXT or Gold Class Carnauba Plus.

Re: Hoping to different brand, Turtle Wax is ****...
Good choice to going which meguiars!!! You might want to invest in to some ultimate compound or swirlX depending on how bad your defects are. If your car is dark coloured then I would suggest deep crystal polish. And for the wax I would go with nxt 2.0 because it last a bit longer then gold class. Hope you are happy with meguiars products you can't go wrong with it!!!
