I do like the NXT wax, but it doesn't seem to last too long. Is there a Meguiars wax that does last longer than a couple weeks?

Re: NXT Wax 2.0 has short life
Paint surface preparation (claying/ cleaning) before applying Next Tech should extend the time your wax lasts.
I'm really surprised that it lasts you such a short period. I usually still see water beading after 3 months. But of course every paint is different.

Re: NXT Wax 2.0 has short life
I'm a bit surprised by your statement as I've found nxt 2.0 to last longer than most. I generally just do a thorough detail twice a year topped with nxt 2.0 and it lasts quite well.
Maybe your climate, driving conditions or car's finish have something to do with it? dunno.

Did you run it through automated washes?
I have one coat of TechWax 2.0 on my black paint. I applied this about 4-5 months ago, and yet it still sheds and beads water.
Also, try to wash your vehicle at least once a week. I do. DO NOT use automatic car washes, most of the time the chemicals they use are to harsh for the wax.

Re: NXT Wax 2.0 has short life
I discovered this year that the application method makes the durability change. Same car, same preparation with same products, same LSP (NXT 2). Durability was much better when I applied it by hand rather than machine.

Re: NXT Wax 2.0 has short life
I always use almost exactly the same process for my car each and every time I go to wax my car. The process ususally goes as follows:
Wash (GC or NXT)
Clay (2-3 times per year; Smooth Surface Clay)
Compound (Every so often; Ultimate Compound)
Polish (Deep Crystal Polish #2)
Wax (NXT Tech Wax 2.0; 2 thin coats, allow 1 hour between each round to allow a solid cure)
Everybody else has said it before me, and I'll say it too, PREP is the key here!"When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.
When Barry gives you Meguiar's, you get one HECK OF A SHINE!"

detailed a friends car (daily driver, 32degree celcius sun, tropical rain etc etc) once with it.
3 months later the dad gave me an earful.
I believe his words were
"You waxed my car and it only lasted 2 months. You some kinda wise guy? I want it to last at least 6 months"
-"I find your lack of faith disturbing."

Re: NXT Wax 2.0 has short life
I am a Meguiar's product user. I love the NXT 2.0 wax.
But I have exactly the same problem here. I NXT 2.0 wax my 2007 Nissan in Sept this year, and I do not see any smooth feeling, water beading or sheeting after about 3 weeks.
As you can see from my profile, I am from Hong Kong. Sept Hong Kong is hot and rain quite often. Humidity of 90% is common here.
I wonder if my bottle of NXT2.0 has expired or gone bad? Should I wash the car more often or allow dust/dirt to build up on car to extend the life of wax??
Or, should I say that it is common for all kind of wax to have a short life in (sub)tropical/hot climate??Dennis

I would also recommend a good wax on top of the NXT 2.0, either the Gold Class Carnauba or Deep Crystal Step 3.
edit: What does your dad use for washing the car? If you buy him a bottle of Gold Class Wash, it will not just clean the car well but also condition the paintwork.

Re: NXT Wax 2.0 has short life
Here are my steps for perfecting my paint:
1) Wash - Gold Class or UWW
2) Clean - Smooth Surface Clay Kit
3) Prep - UC, followed by SwirlX
4) Polish - DC2 or M07 (optional; but for dark colors its a MUST)
5) Wax/Seal - TechWax 2.0; wait at least 12 hours for the curing process,
then topped with GCCP paste.
6) Maintain - Last Touch or UQW (booster).
