  • Swirl-X Safe On Glass?

i have pretty bad water spots on all the windows of my truck. i tried vinegar and water and that didn't phase them. would it be safe to apply swirl-x on the windows to remove the water spots? or is there a better solution?

Try some UC or even some M04 Heavy Cut Cleaner with a terry cloth towel. M04 does especially well at removing water spots: How To Remove Water Spots off Glass using M04 with an RB

SwirlX would be safe ot try if it is what is on hand.... as mentioned above, you may need stronger.

      Can also try clay.

        Re: Swirl-X Safe On Glass?

i tried some swirl-x on one of my windows and it didn't work. i'm not sure how it should have been applied on glass, but i put a drop or two on a terry cloth applicator and buffed it in. then immediately removed it. it didn't phase them. any other suggestions? i hate to buy M04 since my windows will probably be the only thing that is used for. but if thats what i need to get them off, thats what i'll do. i only tried swirl-x because thats what i had on hand.

Ultimate Compound or M04 should do it.

if it comes down to me having to buy something, i will probably just pick up some MO4 since it's been proven to remove tough water spots on glass

I would clay your glass, then go to #4.

i think i already know the answer to this question, but should i put anything on my glass over my failed swirl-x attempt? the reason i ask is because early this morning when i went to my truck, there was morning dew/fog all over my truck. but i could see the outline of the circle i applied swirl-x on my side glass. i didn't put anything back on my glass after i wiped the swirl-x off.

You would want a glass cleaner after.

is it a necessity for the swirl-x application? or is it just for cleaning?

Claying, or any cream cleaner (SwirlX, UC, #4, #105) seems to need followed up with a glass cleaner in my experience.

I think Fine Cut is in the SwirlX ball park.

#4, UC, #105 would be the stronger ones...

ok. thats what i was thinking. but since it was going to be free, i thought i would ask.

do you think UC would be as effective as M04 for my needs? or would M04 be better? the only reason i ask is because i dont have a DA. so i figure that i will get more use out of UC down the road. M04 will probably sit on my shelf forever once my water spots are removed. (hopefully there wont be a next time ) but i also dont want to buy UC if its not going to work.

                              You can always try #2.

UC or #105 arent bad to have around for hand use for random things.

What are the spots like? Definatley on the surface, not etchings?
