  • Gold Class Wash vs. Wash n Wax

    I have a few questions about these 2 products:

    1. Lubricity-wise, does Wash n Wax stand up to Gold Class when it comes down to protecting the finish against swirls? Which is the superior wash?

    2. If I wash my car once a week thoroughly with Wash n Wax, should I still wax the car as frequently as I usually do?

    3. Is Meguiar's phasing Gold Class Car Wash and Conditioner out?

    4. Is the dilution ratio the same for both products? I currently have a cup set up for precise Gold Class dilution.

    I'm usually a Gold Class guy but the Wash n Wax seems like it's more widely available plus I have less time to wax now than I did before, so I may give it a try. Thanks for your response.

      I wash my car with 4 Meguiar's MF Mitts (white) and cycle between Meguiar's Gold Class, Meguiar's UW&W, Autoglym Shampoo and Conditioner.

      1. UW&W and GC are similar in terms of lubricity. UW&W gives more bubbles. All 3 shampoo make my car (silver Nissan Fuga) looks shiny. However, I do think that GC is better than UW&W in terms of conditioning --- the car is a little bit smoother and color is richer after a wash by GC. It might be the drying towel I used last time. I changed to Water Magnets now. I will wash my car with UW&W and report again...

      2. I do not feel that the UW&W product is leaving behind wax that is significant enough for me to feel, look by eyes or touch by hand... Again, it might be due to the drying towel I used that time.

      3. I dont think so.

      4. I think both are 1oz -> 1gallon of water.

      by the way, the UW&W smells so sweet like mango which I really love!

      I read from AUTOGEEK about people adding 1oz of cleaner wax (not Meguiar's) into their car wash. I wonder if this would work...?

        UW&W is certainly good, and handy when no time for UQW, etc after.

        I'm not sure, but I think I got better results letting the soap stay on the surface a bit longer, rather than just rinsing right away. It was a cool evening, and I just did the whole car, then rinsed.
