  • Removing wax from flat paint

Just installed a Hemi scoop on my 72 Dart. It's painted flat black. While waxing the rig, I got some over spray of "Quick wax" on it. Is there some thing I can use to remove the wax from the flat paint? And no, it does not have flat clear coat. Guess I better go back to paste or wipe on liquid wax. Or mask the scoop off each time.
    Thanks for any help.

Don't want to mess with flat too much, or you may shine it up. Even a QD spray could add shine.

I would try the Quick Interior Detailer if you have it... if not, just let it wear off.

Apply the same product to the area again and wipe it off before it dries

The windex didn't work. So, I just pulled the scoop, removed the paint and then resprayed the flat black. I'm very new to this paint thing. Just found out about flat clear coat. Layed a couple of coats on. Now, hopefully if it gets over spray, it wont chalk up.

While you probably won't get any chalking if you overspray Quik Wax onto the flat clear, you will start to make it shine. If you're going to continue using a spray product around the scoop, mask it off first.

Thanks Michael. What I did, I fabricated a cover, outa sheet metal, that slips over the scoop. Already tried it. No over spray.
