  • Best alternative to the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner?

Hi, new forum member here with an urgent question. To make a VERY long story short I bought a 92 tbird sc a couple months ago with the sole purpose of fixing it up and getting it running. Well last week I got everything how I wanted it but the exterior. Some body panels are dull and need a refresh so one of my friends have me a list of stuff to do and a list of meguiars products that he used for a similar job.

I got all the things BUT the paint cleaner. No store carries it and if I want to special order it it will take 2 weeks. Heres the kicker! My towns biggest car show is this Sunday and I really want my car looking the best! So does anyone know of a meguiars product (or and other company) that has similar end results as the deep crystal paint cleaner. THANKS A BUNCH!

Go with SwirlX. You should be able to find it locally.

Thats a good thing to hear as I was looking at that a couple days ago. Is that somthing I can effectively apply by hand? I dont have any power detailing tools right now and figured I do the first detail on this car by hand.

Yes, SwirlX may absolutely be applied by hand. Meguiar's polishes are best applied, in my opinion, with foam applicators. Foam applicators are hard to find, so you may have to use a good microfiber applicator. Work on small sections at a time--say, 20"x20". Polish and then immediately remove with a microfiber towel. Make sure you get the first test section looking good before you polish the rest of the car. Good luck!
