  • Applying ScratchX 2.0 with DA

I am sort of interested in the new ScratchX 2.0 after seeing a chart showing the cut of it compared to ther products, and it seems to be a good medium between M105 and M205. The label says it can be applied by DA with a polishing pad, but it doesn't really give a good description on its use with a DA. I don't have any experience with the Meguiars pads, just the Lake Country CCS pads. My question is, what kind of pad is considered a polishing pad? I want to make sure I don't go too agressive on the pad. Also, is there any kind of standard sized pad that should be used, will something like a 6" pad suffice, or does it need to be used with a smaller pad?

As far as use, how should it be applied and polished to the area? Does the pad need to be lightly misted with something like a pad prime or quick detailer first? Should the product be spread across the working area then worked with the DA, or just go straight to working it? What speeds should it be worked at, and for how many passes? Does it need to be finished off with something to take car of any micromarring, or does ScratchX finish off fine as a one step polish with the right pad?

Just trying to figure out how this can work with a DA, and get the correct information first

It would be the white pad.

Actually the Lake Country Coarse Green would probably be a closer match to the Meguiars Polishing Pad.

The Meguiars Pad is in between the White and Orange lake country pad, which is now where the Coarse Green lake county pad falls, I do believe.
