  • How well does Deep Crystal wax last?

I clean my car with NXT wash (the purple liquid), and then polish it with Deep Crystal polish and finally I put two layers of Deep Crystal wax to complete.

It takes only a few short days for the car to look dirty. There are all sorts of dried water/dirt type stain spots when you look at it close up. I leave the car outside 24/7.

I don't want to wash, polish and wax every few weeks, and it seems like the wax layer is still existant on the surface, so can I just do a simple wash with water and dry (with terry cloth) every couple of weeks? Will this wax still stay on, and for how many washes? I like to keep the car looking sparkly and clean without needing to spend 4-5 hours each time.

    Thanks.

After each wash I would recommend applying Ultimate Quick Wax or using Ultimate Quick Detailer. This will help to boost the shine and protection/water-beading quality of the wax/sealant previously applied.

For a regular Carnauba wax I like to reapply once a month.

For a sealant I reapply every 2 months.

This is simply what I like to do...it is certainly possible for a carnauba to go 6-8 weeks and a sealant to go 3+ months.

How hot does it get where you live? I would think 4-8 weeks, or longer, it varies.

      As for how many washes...

It's currently winter at the moment, so it probably averages around 15-20 degrees celsius (60-70 fahrenheit) and in summer, it's usually around 25-30 degrees celsius (80-85 fahrenheight).

Is it possible to only wash with water and dry with terry cloth every 2-3 weeks for maybe 3 months before reapplying the proper wash, polish and wax routine (that takes 4-5 hours) at the end of 3 months?

Although I don't mind washing/polishing/waxing my car, it's just very tedious to do it so often a year, so if I just apply an Ultimate Quick Wax after a water wash and dry, will it be like layering, if an existing Deep Crystal carnuba wax is still on the surface? It rained this morning, and it has been about 2 months since I last wash/polish/waxed it and there is still very strong water beading - can I use this as an indication that my carnuba wax is still lasting well? When you look at the car, there seems to also be a thin layer of film, and if you rub your finger over it, it glides with no friction, which I think is the carnuba wax still on the surface.

I would be careful about drying with terry cloth...terry cloths are very aggressive compared to a Microfiber or high quality cotton towels.

The Ultimate Quick Wax isn't necessarily layering as much as it is just a "booster wax" to add a slight amount of protection to help the base coat go a little further.

If there is still strong water beading then it's fairly safe to assume that the wax is still giving you some degree of protection.
