I usually do to be one the safe side. If the mitt is not sealed in plastic, you never know where it has been or what it has lying between the strands.

I usually turn the hose on high and blow them out good before starting.

Similar to what has already been mentioned, as a personal preference, I like to spray mine down with a stream of water prior to utilization.

As we know, it doesn't take much at all to introduce imperfections to your paint and anything that we can do as enthusiasts to make our detailing lives a bit easier will, indeed, cut down on the time spent to achieve perfection.

An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of results!
