I used some ultimate protectant the other day on the top rails of a truck bedliner that is dark gray and had lightened up. I used a meguiars foam applicator to apply and made several passes to make sure it was rubbed in. Well the next day it was very hot and its like it melted and ran down the sides of the bed. Washing it didnt take it off so I had to use a mf towel with some UQD to get it off. Is this normal or what went wrong?

Re: Problem with Ultimate Protectant
Does sound unusual for heat alone to do that.
Can happen in rain. There are some plastics on my car that just dont take a dressing well, hopefully you dont have that.
What kind of truck/model of bedliner is it?2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: Problem with Ultimate Protectant
Not sure. I have not personally used the new Ultimate Protectant yet, but maybe you just used a little too much product and you may need to go back after letting the product dry to make sure that any excess product that has not dried or absorbed into the plastic is removed. No matter what type of dressing I use, I just always like to go back over it later to make sure any excess is removed.Brian

Re: Problem with Ultimate Protectant
I'm not sure about Ultimate Protect but I used Meguiar's M40 Vinyl & Rubber Conditioner on the handle on my tail gate. It didn't hold well and the first day it rained it all ran down onto the paint. So I might just depend on what you put it on.
