  • After a full on amazing detail, Paint RUINED!

So I did a full on clay-clean-wax-sealant job on my car less than a week ago, a couple days ago, I left my car at a friends place overnight, his automatic sprinklers got on the front of my car, and left some weird white water spots ALL OVER!

Went to an automatic touchless wash immediately (what I had available) and it took none of it off, I rubbed one of them off, but you can still see the water spot there, just washed out the white in it.. What is the best way of taking it out without having to use a claybar/cleaner that will remove the wax and have me have to do the whole car over again

I'd try using some cleaner wax first to see if it takes them off. Then just follow up with an LSP of your choice.

Remember, do a test spot to see if it works. If it doesn't take it out, go ahead and do another test spot with Swirl X.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.

If it's just the front of the car, try whatever you need to, and then put the wax back down. Honestly, waxing doesn't take that long.

Furthermore, if you went to the touch-less car wash, it probably removed a lot of the wax anyway.

I would follow Andrews advice. Use a cleaner wax. Also get rid of the etching as soon as possible.

I recently got rid of all the water spots on my whole truck using the Cleaner Wax. It was part of the claying kit. The clay made the surface really smooth. The Cleaner Wax got the water spots out. I did have to use a moderate amount of elbow grease, so the claying step was absolutely necessary to keep scratches out. The cleaner wax did not "polish", but it got them spots out. If you have spots, but no scratches, then try the Cleaner Wax. It'll get the spots out and wax at the same time. If you have spots AND scratches, then use a polish before waxing. The polish will get out both the spots and the scratches.

Maybe pictures will help. Only used the Cleaner Wax.
