you saying that you prep with Meguiars proline and LSP with Zaino? that's how I understand it. Well, that could make a good combo anyway!
I very new here and to Meguiars line ,I have just order a ton of Meguiars and plan to redo the whole truck.I used some #9 ,then Zaino and it looked great .But I need to use harder stuff to remove scratches ,I will post pic when done. I haven,t used the new PC7336 yet ,we will see ......

I was after some Zaino last year, but you cant get it in the UK. The US distributor wont ship here!
The only European distributer is in Germany, it seemed expensive and the details I was sent were very complicated. Up until converting to Megs I was a Zymol and P21S fan. Zymol is really expensive but gives good results when the weathers warm (not often here). Still use the P21S Gloss Enhancer on occasions but prefer the Megs Show Car Glaze. Megs is better overall IMHO.
To be quite honest, I was a Zaino fanatic before I knew very much about detailing my car. On the MINI forums, Zaino is the one product that is highly promoted by a few individuals, and what happens is that because of the 3 to 9 month wait for our cars, we accumulate knowledge, parts, and car care accessories BEFORE our cars even arrive. And Zaino is the only thing talked about on the 2 major MINI forums. There's also this "brag factor" with Zaino. "I spent my whole weekend putting on 12 coats of Zaino by hand!!!"
But after attending an NXT clinic, not only did I learn that practically everything I knew about maintaining my car was wrong, but I realized that NXT was not only more affordable and readily available, it was super easy to apply, not to mention fun with a PCDA.
There are lots of Zaino zealots out there. Heck, there were even rumors that I had switched back to Zaino here on the forums which was absolutely false!
What's funny is that it really irks me to watch new and potential MINI owners getting all excited about Zaino, and watching the same people tout it on the forums as the ONLY product in the world.
Of course, I love to counter them with NXT and they are never pleased with that! I think my point is simply that knowledge is power, and now that I've been doing it the Meguiar's way for 1-1/2 years now, there is no way I'm turning back.
Besides, it's loads of fun for me to be holding these local NXT garage clinics and helping MINI newbies bypass the very mistakes I made when I first got my MINI!

What where your reasons for switching to NXT?

Some people would have the opinion that Meguiar's success can be attributed to the Meguiar's family's religious faith. That is their opinion and there's nothing wrong with this.
I have discovered over my years of posting on the Internet that the fastest way to start a flame war is to bring up,
* Politics * Religion * Car Wax
Ridiculous I know, but for the most part true. If I can strongly encourage everyone here to please avoid these topics to the best of your ability not because they're bad topics, but because they're lightening rod topics and the focus of this discussion forum should be about car care.
Thank you everyone for your thoughtful considerations to this request.

I tried NXT on a dark color Nissan Murano this weekend and fell in love with it, previously it did not meet my satisfaction. I love it on dark colors but on silvers IMO nothing beats Zaino. Now is just to test the durability of it.
I wasn't necessarily a Zaino die-hard, but, like many who flock the internet-based car clubs and research venues when deciding on their new vehicle, I fell for the Zaino that everyone was ranting and raving. Heck, I even bought a kit of it, tried it out twice, discovered Autopia, then Detail City, then Meguiar's Online, and the Zaino literally got put to the back shelf. It looks good on silver and white, yes, but now I have Four Star UPP and love it on those colors so Zaino is obsolete.
I really want to try more Meguiar's products now, but I have so many from other brands and at least 2 - 6 products for each little task that it doesn't make sense for me to go out and buy more of what I essentially already have. However, being that NXT is only $12-$15, I'm definitely going to try it out soon to see what everyone's talking about. Even IF durability isn't as high as Zaino, for my personal vehicles I really only care about look and feel, so hopefully I'll like it.

I read this kind of thing on other forums all the time,
"Brand X looks great on light colors, while Brand Y looks great on dark colors".
This comment is made often enough that when it came up on our forum I placed it into the Hot Topics forum in the below link.
I have a silver and a white car. I was thinking on increase my stock of Meguiar's LSP (couple of tins of #16).
I read a lot that NXT and #26 are awesome for dark color cars.
I want to know your opinion about the best choice on LSP for light color cars.
Thank you for your responses.
Hi Cipitio,
Here's the deal,
First of all, 99% of all cars being manufactured today have a clear coat, so keep in mind, most people are not working on a pigmented paint, but on clear paint. Clear paint is simply resin without color.
That said, if a car wax, or polish will make a dark or black colored paint look great, it's also making a light colored finish look great to it's just your eyes can't see the difference. This is why the best test for a product is always on dark colors and black paint specifically. The true results of a product are going to be the most apparent on black paint, whether its a single-stage finish or a clear coated finish.
The color that is the least efficient at demonstrating a difference is white paint, whether it's a single-stage, or a clear coated finish. This is why Meguiar's performs all of their testing on black paint.
What you see discussed on forums and elsewhere on the topic of some waxes being better on light colors and some waxes being better on dark colors is simply confusion.
You'll often read where someone will say, "Brand X is great on light colors", what is implied is that brand X doesn't make dark colors look good. If a wax or polish can't make a dark color look good, it isn't making a light color look good, your eyes just can't evaluate the difference.
The best waxes for appearance quality make all colors look good and you can know this by whether or not the wax makes dark colors look good.
Think about it for a second, if you have two identical cars, for example two Honda Accura's. One is white with a clear coat finish and the other is black with a clear coat finish, if a wax makes the black Accura look great, knowing you're working on the same kind of paint, (a clear coat), it's reasonable to assume that it's going to make the white Accura look great, it's just you're eyes won't perceive the difference as easily as they would with the black Accura.
Conversely, if a wax doesn't make the black Accura look good, it's reasonable to assume it's not going to make the white Accura look good for the same reasons outlined above.

I like what you said about the paint colors, though, Mike! That is so true, now that I actually think about it. I always enjoyed using my Wolfgang Sealant on dark colors mainly because that's what it's tipped for...dark colors. But then I tried it on our Havasu Blue light paint and it looked stunning!!! It had the warm glow and the metallic was just popping. And there have been many reporting that Pinnacle Souveran, the touted "wax for black and red" also looks super super on tans and silvers!
The point I was trying to make was that I used NXT last summer on my Maxima which is a dark silver. I did not like it compared to Z2. I had the bottle sitting around and when I came across the Murano I thought I would try it and it turned out great. Even better after I topped it with #16.
IMO I believe Z2 is better on lighter colors because it gives more of a glass look which I like on light colors. Either way I will now keep NXT in my line up for darker color vehicles. I love how easy it came off as well. I did try to put another coat on after only 2 hours and it was a bother [Edited for bad language -Mike] to remove so I learned that you need to let the 1st coat sit longer. 1 would have been fine but hey, Im have OCD as it is so you KNOW Im gonna layer!
I used Meguiars for years before I even tried Zaino (I got some samples from an Autopia member). It is actually a decent product, very wet and reflective shine but I hate that you have to mix it with ZFX to get the best results. I prefer to grab a bottle and just get to work and not worry if I mixed up too little or worse, too much and will have to throw out what I didn't use. A lot of people obviously don't mind the extra steps but for me, after detailing other people's cars all week, I want something that I can toss on quickly after washing and other products suit my needs better.
