Re: Gold Class + Carnuba vs NXT 2.0.

I like 2 coats of NXT for pure reflectivity or NXT topped with M26. The M26 kind of smooths out the shine and gives it a smooth deep look on dark cars. I believe the prep work is the most important. The wax is like the icing on the cake!

FWIW, I would go with NXT--on a white car the greater the reflectivity the better.

I would go with M20 Polymer Sealant for a white vehicle.

Is gold class or NXT2 will bring out the gloss/shine/colour better for a metallic pearl white car?

            I'd use NXT on white.

Ok, thanks for the imput guys, I've finally decided to pick up a bottle of NXT 2.0 for my white car. Hope it will make all my neighbours' jaws hit the floor, or pavement...

Re: Gold Class + Carnuba vs NXT 2.0.

                Hi all,

I had just fininshing detailing my car around 3 days ago. Meguiars smooth surface clay kit followed by there 3 step system paint cleaned polish and carnuba wax.

My question is what is the best wax? I have the carnuba step 3 and also NXT 2.0.

My car's colour is deep black perl and paint finish is excellent. Car is a little dirty and I just want some general advise between washes.

Also I have the NXT speed detailer that I use around once a month.

I was thinking next wash via snow foam. Using grit guard 2 bucket washing, with a pure wool wash mit. Folllowed by 2 further coats of wax carnuba first or nxt 2.0? then speed detailer next wash. and so on.

Any help or advise I would be most greatfull.

Re: Gold Class + Carnuba vs NXT 2.0.

Hard question since all the waxes work well, and the difference is as much perception as reality.

Most folks think the Carnubas (DC3, #26, etc) give a slightly warmer/deeper look, especially on dark or red cars, while Synthetics (NXT2, #21, etc) give a more glassy/reflective/shiny look, especially on light or white cars. Also Synthetics tend to be more durable.

Personally, after a good detail cleaning (clay +cleaner +optional glaze) I always apply a think coat of NXT2 and let it sit several hours (or overnight) to cure and bond to the paint, then on dark or red cars I apply 2nd coat of Carnuba (instead of another coat of NXT2). A few folks do it the other way around (NXT2 on Carnuba) but most think it works best if the NXT2 synthetic polymers bond directly to the cleaned paint.

I then weekly wash+UQW, and every 1-2 months re-wax with carnuba (or if I have time to kill, with NXT2+carnuba). Every Spring and Fall I repeat the detail cleaning +NXT2 base.

Works well for me, and should work well on your black pearl color. Everytime you do the detail cleaning, I would recommend then using glaze/polish (DC2 or #07) before the NXT2 - you will love the extra depth it gives your black pearl.

How does that sound? Have fun, you cannot really go wrong no matter what.

Re: Gold Class + Carnuba vs NXT 2.0.

Use 2 bucket wash with grit guard, Apply NXT2.0 first, follow up with M26 carnauba.
Keep up shine with Ultimate Detailer followed by Ultimate Quick Wax.
You can just use Ultimate Quick Wax without the detailer if doing it right after a wash.

What is anyone's experience with GC+C and NXT 2.0 on silver cars? Will there be any perception between the "deep warmth vs highy reflective" on a silver car?
