Pre-NXT polish applied via Random Orbit?

I am looking for a mild pre-wax cleaner/polish/swirl remover (is there such a thing, all in one?) that has minimal fillers and is designed to be applied via PC random orbit machine. Basically, I am wanting to clay, polish (insert recommended product here) and apply NXT (both polish and NXT via PC), then maintain with NXT spray wax/speed detailer until re-polishing is necessary.

This is going to be used on a new car that I do not expect to have major swirling issues.

What is your recommendation?

If your car is new and the paint is in excellent condition, then I would suggest using Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover before the NXT. If however, you do have some minor swirling, one of may favorite products is Meguiar's #80 Speed Glaze! Follow the #80 with 2 coats of NXT. You will LOVE the results!

Why use the swirl removal when this is a brand new car?

Btw..This is a fairly common topic for new car owner like myself, I think it deserves a How-To articles by Meguiars representative.

If I found this site when I first own my first new car, I believe I would still have a brand new looking car instead of just so-so 3 year old car. I had just received my second new car this week and I have been trying to figure out what is best to protect and making sure it is show room shine most of the time. Unfortunately the topic discuss so far is very confusing.

Perhaps someone can help.

PS: I've just given the new car a NXT Wash but found there are a few spots of yellowish bird poo spot.. still not sure what to do with it....my idea is to give it a good waxing.

To maintain a finish in new or excellent condition, the most important thing to do is to take ownership of the maintenance program including washing it. This insures by using a premium quality wash mitts and drying towels that you reduce the potential for swirls and scratches simply by avoiding car washes, whether they be hand washing or automated.

Then find a wax you like and maintain the finish yourself.

Step 1 Wash
Get a Grit Guard.

Pause to Evaluate
After washing evaluate the finish with your hands for above surface bonded contaminants, and with your eyes for swirls and scratches.

Step 2 Prep Work
If you need to, clay to remove above surface contaminants and use a paint cleaner to remove road stain, oxidation and below surface contaminants.

Step 3 Polish
This is an optional step if you really want to make your paint look it's best.

Step 4 Protect
This is the step you apply your wax. Two thin coats are better than one coat.

Step 5 Maintain
You maintain your car's finish by using products like quick detailers and spray waxes in-between regular washing and another application of a normal coat of wax.

When I bought my first dark (Black) vehicle I didn't think of this problem. Yes it was a big problem, As Mike called it I had the DISO (added this to the Acronyms List, I like it!). I know now that I will look closer than ever when buying another new vehicle because its a pain to try and correct, when you think your vehicle should look perfect (as I do) its even harder.

BlackSunshine... I have used the #9 and I like it easy to use with the PC and you can find it at just about any auto store. I think you will like it. Good Luck

Here are some pics from a brand new Z4 just picked up this week from the BMW dealer in Irvine. There are buffer marks like this all over the car. I will remove these sometime after new years.

Those are even worse than what I got on my new Jag. On mine they were also all over the car... everywhere.

It took me 12 hours work to get them out but the car is beautiful now.

I used #2, #83, #80, #7 and NXT. I've got #26 wax that I'll use after next wash just for comparison to the NXT.

Good luck with that Z4. It'll be gorgeous when you're done.

Yikes that's bad.

I was going to just simply recommend Deep Crystal Polish then NXT, but it looks like you got extra work.

I purchased a new car 5 months ago, and luckily my paint looked great.
