I agree with 'Lasthope' suds don't really seem to help in the cleaning process. What I look for is a good slime coat, for lack of better term. I want the soap to stay in the water, not bubble out of it.

The slimiest stuff I've used is #62, man that stuff is slick. Through a foam gun it's hard to beat.

By the way, some WalMarts are putting the Gold Class Shampoo on clearance. I bought one 64oz for $1.76.

Nice. My Walmart has it on clearance as well, but at $12. I really have to go shopping over the border more often....

I don't know about highest sudsing, but Ultimate Wash and Wax is without a doubt(IMO) meguiars best wash to date, and I've used all of them at one time or another.

I guess there would be a lack of water if one did not lower the sponge/wash mitt into the water.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a car wash shampoo that is very sudsy. Suds are a combination of soap & water, which is what I want to clean with. Dirt is attracted to soap. Soap creates lubricity.

If you are washing a car with a gallon of water as opposed to five gallons, the grit has a MUCH better chance of getting back into your mitt. Especially if you're not using a grit guard. Then again, one gallon in a five gallon bucket would only come to the top of the grit guard! Basically what I'm saying is: If you are using one bucket, with one gallon of water, or even two for that matter with regular car wash soap(not an ONR product) you are asking for swirls...and will most likely get them!

Whether you are using 1 gallon, or 5 gallons, you still have to lower the sponge/mitt into the solution.

My bad, I wasn't clear. I was referring to the foam gun as a means of application. I prefer it to the mitt in the bucket method. There is clearly a difference between what a foam gun sprays and a 5 gallon bucket with 4 gallons of foam as well.

The Gilmour does an excellent job of mixing soap and water without producing a huge bubble fest.

The overall best method would be to fill you 5 gallon bucket, then add the soap. Stir, creating no foam, then apply. But like I said, I prefer the Gilmour.
