  • DC3 Cleaning

Does DC3 have any cleaning abilities? Or is that what DC1 and DC2 are for? Can this wax be used for layering? Thanks!

    Re: DC3 Cleaning

DC3 is a pure wax and DC2 is a pure polish. So neither of those have cleaning ability. That would be DC1's job.

And yes, you can use it for layering.

DC1 cleans, DC2 is pure glaze/oils to nuture and give wet-look, DC3 is pure carnuba polish.

DC1 is being discontinued, SwirlX is a good "replacement" paintCleaner (it also incudes some glaze/oils).

Also, you cannot actually "layer" wax (increase the thickness with many coats) regardless of what other websites/forums say. You can apply 2 coats of the same wax to ensure complete and uniform coverage. You can apply a 2nd coat with a different wax and end up with a mix of the waxes, X% of the first and Y% of the second, giving a mix of their properties. Many folks (myself included) do this, commonly a pure carnuba (such as DC3 or #26) ontop of sealant (such as NXT2 or #21). You dont want to use any sort of cleanerWax (such as ColorX) as the 2nd coat since it would remove the 1st coat, but your DC3 is a good candidate.
