  • Ultimate Wash and Wax - didnt know it could do this

I was suprised just how much UW&W can make paint pop. Pulled the car out in the sun and was shocked how great the paint looked for just a simple wash that I had to take a few pictures, it looked even better in person.

I think the reason it looked so good was because I washed every panel of the car, let it dwell for five additional minutes, then rinsed.

The customer was very happy and insisted that I did more to the paint than just wash it, LOL.

I actually really like the Ultimate Wash and Wax. I didn't want to like it because I like rinse-less washing so much, but the UW&W forces me to use a traditional wash more often.

I also like the smell a lot more once it is dispersed in the water and used during the wash, as opposed to just sniffing it in the bottle. It makes for a very pleasant washing experience.

Never tried an actual rinseless wash, I tried your Last Touch method on an extremly dusty Ford Ranger a couple months ago and it worked pretty good.

Does your paint bead well after the use of UW&W?

Thanks for the nice comments about UWW, Nick!

But with all due respect to that admittedly very nice product, you do keep this car impeccably well maintained for your client - this isn't the first time we've see it here on MOL. This looks to be a case where you and UWW both helped make each other look good!!

              Yes, you are correct Mike.

I can only imagine that the car will stay looking like that with the continued use of UW&W and the maybe occasional application of UQW.

Thanks Rasky, I was shocked how well the flake popped as well for just a simple wash, no QDs, or spray waxes afterwards.

                    Nick,

I did some testing on extremely filthy vehicles (the kind that get 1-2 washes per year, literally) side by side and the part washed with UW&W was definitely different. It seemed to create a very tight, small bead across the entire area.

I wouldn't say UW&W leaves the same amount of beading as say UQW, but it is certainly a noteworthy improvement. It's a great way to maintain an existing wax coat IMO.

The reason I asked is since I have found that on several of the vehicles I maintain weekly UW&W will bead for about a week to a week and a half, thats usually by the time I go to wash it again anyways.

The test you did makes me more confident in UW&W. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Re: Ultimate Wash and Wax - didnt know it could do this

I've noticed UW@W really makes paint POP on a well maintained vehicle. If the paint is neglected, the difference seems to be not as noticeable. I started using UW@W during the winter. With all the salt and sand, I was not really impressed with it. But, now that the salt is gone and my vehicle has a nice coat of wax (that the salt doesn't immediately eat away), UW@W definatley creates a nice shine and beads well.
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

One of the aforementioned vehicles I tested UW&W on was a truck that hadn't been truly washed since I detailed it one year ago. The owner says he did a coin-op power wash rinse only a handful of times. He came out to San Diego from Missouri and had a nice coating of salt/grime.

For me, UW&W worked great to clean it off. Of course, I'm sure results will vary in a case by case basis.

I wasn't saying that UW@W didn't wash off the salt and sand, it did. What I was trying to say how the end result looks on a nicely prepped, waxed surface, compared to a non waxed surface.
