  • Ordering some new supplies

Hello everyone, first post here. I've been browsing around for the past couple of weeks and learned a lot so far.

Running low on what I have now and I want to get a seperate set of supplies for my Dark Gray F-150 and my parents Black X5.

Right now I have some off brand MF towels and mitts, but I want to order a seperate set for the F150 and X5. All Ive used in the past was Megs Gold Class soap and cleaner wax on the F150. Ive been browsing and doing a lot of reading, just want to make sure I get everything I need before I buy it.

NXT Gen car wash soap - Better for hard water?
M26 wax - Better for darker colors?
    Ultimate compound
    DCSP
    Clay kit
Also I bought some Hot Rims All wheel cleaner, but I have black rims. Is it ok to use on them?

    Grit guard
    Water Magnet Drying towel
    Supreme shine MF towels
    MF mitt
    Terry towels
    Foam applicator pads
Even coat MF applicator pads - Do I need them if I get the foam ones?

    Re: Ordering some new supplies

Never used NXT car wash but I know that it is better for people with hard water.

M26 is not necessarily better for darker colors than NXT Tech Wax 2.0 or GC Carnuba class, it is a personal preference.

I would also grab some Swirlx as it is less aggressive than UC.

If the rims are clear coated then All Wheel Cleaner is fine. I have a CooperS with silver clear coated rims and All Wheel Cleaner does a nice job when needed.

It is a personal preference between the Even Coat MF applicators and the foam applicators. I, personally, like the foam applicators just because I do.

Finally, will you be working by hand or machine? This will effect product choice.

      Hello and welcome to mol.

Order looks okay. follow the above post advice. You will be fine.

I live in a hard water area. I regularly use GC shampoo. It works fine for me.

Thanks for the help. Ill stick with the GC shampoo and get some SwirlX.

I also have a pretty deep scratch on the side of my truck and was wondering if some ScratchX would be able to get it all out. Its pretty deep and looks like I got keyed. Not the greatest pics, but they work.

Can you feel the edges of the scratch with your fingernail? If so, most likely the best you can do with any polish or compound is minimize the scratch.

If the paint is missing deep down into the primer or metal, no polish can fill that in.

For a good portion of that scratch, however, ScratchX 2.0 looks to be a great candidate for removal.

Pretty sure that the white marks on the doors aren't coming out, but hopefully it will help with the fender.
