  • Which product below is suitable for my car?

    hi everyone
I have bought my brand new 2009 Seat ibiza Red color car on 2008 September.
The dealer has done a favour and arrange a free paint protection applyment to my car free of charge.
Since then i am washing my car with a carnauba shampoo (carpex)and using Sonax highspeedwax after every washin.
its been 18 months since the car's on roads and my car is very well shining after applying the high speedwax which i guess contains silicone .
but the point is there are some light swirls because of the washing process which i had to do unhappily on winter cold weather.
As the sun started to shine nowadays i am trying to chose one of meguiars products available.
The swirls are very light and can be seen only on direct sunlight.therefore i am confused if i need the cleanerwax or some polishing process.
I am able to purchase the following products please advise

    cleaner wax
    ultimate quik detailer
gold class clear coat liguid wax
    ultimate quik wax

please note that i will apply by hand.

For removing mild swirls, you will want a product like SwirlX or the Polishing Compound, if you can find one of them.

Then you would want to use a wax like the Gold Class after.

thanx mate but i think the swirls are very light and can be seen only on direct sunlight.at this point i wonder how the cleaner wax will do about this light swirls.also i will be able to apply every 2 weeks.is it harmfull for the paint ?does it remove the clear coat?

The Cleaner/Wax wont do much to remove the swirls. The wax may hide them, but then they would re-appear as the wax wears off.

Ideally, you would want to remove the swirls with a stronger product as mentioned above, then use something like the Cleaner/Wax that is milder more often.

And yes, if you want the swirls gone, a very small bit of clear coat would be removed.

So as a result can i hide the swirls with waxing continiously? if so cleaner wax or gold class is better?

I am worried with the cleaner wax because it will remove some clearcoat i guess? and later i have to wax with a different product such as gold class.
At this point i prefer only 1 product which can be used 2-3 weeks time without removing any clearcoat.
            Please advise

Well, SwirlX will suit your needs for the light swirls. Now, for the polish and wax. If you just DO NOT have enough time, Meguiar's Cleaner Wax is a good choice. However, if you are looking for the optimal result, try using ColorX first then Gold Class Liquid Wax, OR DC2 then Gold Class Liquid Wax. If you are going for the OPTIMAL result, I suggest you evaluate the paint condition, and use Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Bar Kit, if needed.

If you want to go every 2-3 week, and hide them as best you can, then Cleaner/Wax or ColorX are the best for you right now.

Re: Which product below is suitable for my car?

                      1) any cleaner (or cleanerWax) will remove that "dealer paint protection". But, dont worry, it was only a sealant (like NXT2) anyway, so no big deal.

                      2) cleanerWax is a cleaner+wax (no surprise). consider using ColorX since it also has glaze/oil in it to help hide the swirls, as well as being a cleaner wax.

                      3) Better, if you are really worried about removing clearcoat (even though you should not worry about mild cleaners) then just do one cleaning spring+fall with SwirlX and then apply DeepCrystal-2 polish or M07 ShowCar glaze (to help that red color "POP"), and then wax with GoldClassPlus or #26 or DeepCrystal3 (all carnubas) or NXT2 (sealant). Continue to wash+wax throughout the summer (without any cleaners at all, leave them for the spring+fall). GoldClassPlus is probably going to give you the most "POP" for your red car, but all are good.

                      4) any wax or cleaner/wax should be applied with a foam applicator (not cloth), and will likely take 15-20 mins to haze (use the swipe test). typically folks wax the whole car, then start back again to wipe/buff the excess off.

Re: Which product below is suitable for my car?

                        Hi friends ,

I decided to wait until the heavy rains seasons finishes at the end of april to apply Meg cleanerwax and then Nxt.

Yesterday to make some practice before meg products, i have washed my car and applied Sonax autohartwax (liguid) with foam ped.and cleaned it with a microfiber pad.

The problem is i seem to get lots of white colour dust after I wax.

Someone suggested I wash the car again after waxing. Any suggestions?

The Cleaner/Wax is a product that beads water very well.

So as that wears off, there will be less beading.
