  • What product to use on 5-step process

I want to do a full 5 step process with:

    1-wash
    2-clay
    3-cleanse
    4-polish
    5-wax

are the order correct and which product I should use? I already have Scratch X and Color X and NXT wax and I will use NXT wax for the last step for sure. I have a PC but I don't mind using hand as well. What would be the best product combination? My vehicle is in very good condition with only some maring(spider web) on clear coat.

    Hi prescott,

The order you have outlined is correct.

Best results with ScratchX are achieved by hand. If you want to use the PC to remove defects, I would recommend getting some #80 Speed Glaze.

    #80 Speed Glaze

        Hi prescott,

The step 3 cleansing step is the ScratchX or the #80 Speed Glaze step. Either of these two products will clean your paint by removing all types of unwanted above surface contaminants and below surface defects.

For Polishing, check out Meguiar's Deep Crystal Polish

Works great! and it's easy to use!

It's not that ScratchX is better, it's just more powerful. If your finish is good to excellent condition and you're looking for a light duty paint cleaner, than Deep Crystal Paint clean is the right choice. It is a chemical cleaner only and doesn't contain any diminishing abrasives. ScratchX contains both chemical cleaners and microscopic diminishing abrasives.

After the polish (#80 Speed Glaze), I like the #7 Show Car Glaze and then NXT wax.
