Re: My take on the new Quik Interior Detailer
Great write up, Nick, thanks!
RE: the sprayer on the new bottle - it has a "stream" and "spray" option on it, depending on which way you turn the nozzle tip. Are you still not liking the "spray" option, or did that little catch you off guard and you're not aware of it?

I have used Tuff Stuff before and it worked pretty well on carpets and seats.

Just wondering if the finish in those pictures was left entirely by the QID? I mean is there a dressing over top? I'm currently using natural shine after cleaning with APC and it looks very similar in appearance. Did the old formula leave that same sort of sheen?
No, there are no dressings applied to any of those surfaces. The last couple of pictures do have a slight amount of gloss due to the fact that the material is pretty smooth, not texturized, and naturally glossy to begin with.
Both versions of Quik Interior Detailer leave almolst zero gloss IMO.

My take on the new Quik Interior Detailer
Hello everyone,
For a little over a month now I have been testing the new Quik Interior Detailer by Meguiars.
I have been testing this new version out on just about all of my details and on various interior surfaces. The new version has a brand new bottle design, the Mirror Glaze line sprayer head, and this new formula has improved cleaning action. I waited to post my thoughts on this new formula until I used up two bottles of it.
As some of you know, I am also a big fan of the original Quik Interior Detailer:
I have a very large quanity of the old formula because it was in fact an awesome product and I did not have a single issue with it. I thought the product, bottle, and sprayer head were all fantastic despite some complaints from others regarding the sprayer head and bottle design.
Here is a picture of an interior dressed with the old formula:
Instead of just posting my thoughts on the new formula I wanted to compare the old and the new one.
There are many things I like about the new updated version, and then there are a couple things I did not like about the updated version.
What I liked about the updated version was its slightly improved cleaning ability. Its not very noticeable on some surfaces but it is on others. I was able to clean out center consoles and cupholders easier with the new version. It seems to remove dust a little bit easier than the old version as well.
Another great thing about the new version is that it still does the same thing as the old version, and that is leave a like new feel and appearance, and some UV protection. There are very few products sold OTC that can compete with Quik Interior Detailer and thats another reason why I think this product is still a winner.
The scent of the new version is slightly more stronger than the old version IMO. Its not overpowering but yet it is still there.
I was also suprised by the price. I was able to pick two bottles up at Walmart for $8. I was pretty impressed with the price.
One of the things I did not like about the product was the sprayer head. The old sprayer head would release a fine mist of product and spread out very nicely. The new version just sprays out product directly and does not really provide a fine mist, I was a little disappointed. I ended up just pouring the new version in an old version bottle and using the old sprayer head.
Other than the sprayer head issue, I still would like to see this product be made available in a gallon size. I would definitly purchase it since buying bottle after bottle of product does get to be a little ridiculous. I would go through the old formula pretty fast, around three or four bottles every month. So, I think a gallon needs to be made available.
I would also like to note that the improved cleaners in this products will not remove a moderate amount of built up dirt and grime, and will not be a good substitute for Meguiars APC, APC Plus, or M39. This is a maintenence product and is not designed for that at all. The improved cleaners would by no means be able to tackle something like this:
Now as for the new version, I am still using it on just about all interior surfaces which includes leather, vinyl, clear plastic, and even maintenence on a headliner ( I was too scared to use APC Plus on it, LOL)
Here are a couple of my recent details where I have used the new Quik Interior Detailer:
Overall I give the new Quik Interior Detailer a
I hope this comparison helps.Tags: None
