    Re: Autoglym HD

I was thinking of buying this kit, however, the price was too much for me. So instead, I bought two can of Gold Class Carnauba Plus paste.

The Wal-Mart nearest me had it when I was there yesterday. I also thought it odd for a mass merchandiser to be carrying what seemed to be a boutique wax.

It is uncommon for WalMart to have this product. Heck, WalMart sells everything you can image, anyways. LOL.

Durability is good - I applied a layer to my wife's car in November and it has seen through the worst winter we've had here in the UK for 30 years ... the look and good beading remained for a good long while; longer than expected, compared to other waxes I've used through winter.

The amount does seem small for the price, but compared to the price of R222, Chemical Guys, Dodo Juice and other mid-range waxes it's actually well priced. The packaging is very attractive and those applicators are really good indeed - just keep them damp. If they dry out, leave them soaking in water for 10 minutes or so before use. I will warn you that the red cloths do "bleed" in the washing machine, so take some care over what else you put in that wash.

Here's a review I made of both products over on DW:

One of my favourite preps on well kept paint is to use Meguiars #81 instead of the HD Cleanser.

Have fun ... it's a nice wax to use.
Thanks for the useful info. I hope my Wal-Mart has this product on Saturday when we go shopping.

    Thanks again.
