    Sorry about that davey g.

My kids just got home with a new wii game and was pullying on me to play with them and I was trying to hurry and finish the thread and wrote depth gauge

Actually I call it depth shine because I was measuring the depth of the reflection. Just to add my mustang's paint was black so it worked pretty good for me.

I'd keep notes and things so if after a detail I would gain say 12'' of my depth shine from the last detail at the highest reading of maybe 20'' and 4 months down the road I would do another depth shine after a detail and didn't get back up to the 20'' mark then I would know that I wasn't doing something right. And like I said early everything was done in my garage in the same place every time so everything was under the same conditions.

Thanks for the further explanation Daniel.

I too have a black car and I too do all my details in controlled garage conditions, so I'm keen to give this a shot!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I am a major proponent for the carnauba over sealant combo. NXT topped with either Gold Class, Natty's Red or Souveran is my favorite.

As already said here ,the secret to a high shine is in the prepping of the paint before waxing !
Did you clay before waxing ?

I always top the wax with m16 ,followed by Ultimate Quick Wax wich seems to give that extra shine !

I agree. Claying before waxing (use paint cleaner if needed) is a key component to get maximum depth and shine. My car already looks great with one coat of TechWax 2.0.

I wanted to try UQW, however, it's a bit too expensive for my taste. I just wish that it was as big (22oz) as the UQD, then I would consider buying it for around $10.00.
