  • Deep Crystal Polish and Gold Class?

Would this be an okay combination? I have a dark car. Would the mild cleaning ability in GC eliminate the Polish?

yes, I think this would be a great combo. No it wouldn't remove any polish.

Remember to apply a thin coat and 2 application of the gold class if you have time and can, It will look fantastic!

Have you clayed? and what type of cleaner have you used?

Should work well together, although GG already has some polish in it so the DC2 may not make a significant difference (but DC2 absolutely wont hurt). Generally GC is a polish+wax single product, while DC3 carnuba and #26 carnuba and NXT20 synthetic are considered "pure waxes" and hence I always use DC2 (or M07 in my case) as a glaze before them.

GC also has some polymers in it, so since you are (as per your previous posts) interested in synthetics and have a light colored car, it should be quite a good polish+wax for you. Again, DC2 absolutely wont hurt but might not make a big difference before GC. Essentially, what GC will give you is sort-of similar to DC2+NXT20+DC3 all in one step.

In a previous post you mentioned that you bought a couple of bottles of SynWax cheap ($.95?). On a well prepared surface then with SynWax, you could top with GC if you wish, although little of the GC polish may get through the SynWax to the underlying paint/clearcoat. You could also prepare the surface and then use GC (with or without DC2), and then top with SynWax, but having synthetic on top of carnuba is not my preferred look on my red car. I prefer carnuba on synthetic so the top wax is enhancing the deep color rather than the synthetic glassy/reflection look (but on your light car that may actually be the best look, synthetic on top). Use up your SynWax that way topping GC, then "step-up" to NXT-2.0 in the future :-)

By the way, you dont have to top with a synthetic, GC is a great wax. But, on your light colored car you can top the GC if you prefer the enhanced glassy look (and slightly longer durability) of a final synthetic.

So, on your dark car stick with the GC. On your light car, consider topping with synthetic.
