This might sound a no-brainer, but what is the proper way to use this drying towel? Do you just drag it over the surface of the paint, with NO pressure?

Re: How to use Meguiar's Water Magnet
I prefer blotting myself. Blotting removes all friction from the process.
The trick is in the technique. When you rinse your car, flood the water over the surface. This actually reduces standing water on your horizontal surfaces and reduces water drops clinging to the sides. And/or use a leaf blower or shop vac to blow the water off the car. After that, it's relatively easy to blot up the remaining water with your WM's.
On the horizontal surfaces, just lay your WM's flat across the surface and gently pat the covered area. On vertical surfaces, I fold my WM into quarters and hold one edge while patting down the sides.

I have also found (well Michael Stoops tipped me off on this) that the water magnet tends to work better if it is washed at first and then used, rather than being used right off the shelf.
I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.
I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
Remove swirls my friends.

Flood the finish first, as ClearlyCoated says, and drying is much faster, and much less invasive.

Re: How to use Meguiar's Water Magnet
I start by drying the vehicle with a huge plush drying towel made by Peak, it was $10 at my local Pep Boys. Its about 38x20". It gets most of the water off (like chamois) and only leaves little tiny bits of water on the surface. I follow up by lightly wiping the surface with a Water Magnet. I recently ordered some Cobra WW "Guzzlers" on BOGO, we will see how they match up to my beloved Water Magnets.James - 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais
