  • Let's see some DC2 Polish at work.

Hi everyone. I'm always reading about this being the 'optional step',but I think it is winner and still a great product.

This panel was buffed smooth and is pretty much defect free. There were no IPA wipedowns before. (I mention this,as I was buffing with a non-Meguiar's product).

I used fine line painters tape down the centre of this section and applied DC2 on the left hand side. I was pretty amazed myself at the depth, and that it showed up so well in the pics. After,I used NXT TechWax 2 on the full section.

I normaly don't notice this difference as much because I don't tape sections when I'm doing a car during application of DC2.
I'm sure this is the difference that RGP(aka Bob) seen with his Maita.

    Thanks for looking.Hope it helps.

Looking great, Ed! How much does a bottle of this cost in Italy?

In Canada, it costs CAD15 a bottle, which amounts to around 10 Euros

    This was after DC2:

I havn't tried on any really light colors. Even my civic is similair in hue to the beamer above. It works well on that too. I reckon on light colors it'll do the same, but you just don't notice it as much...but it's there.

A bit more expensive here. Actually, none of the DC line,1,2 or 3 are listed here in the Meguiar's brochures for Italy. Why? Anyway,I can still order it from the UK,but only if I order other items to make the purchase worthwhile. I think it's listed at about £10.

        Thanks....

Too bad that Bob is never willing to share any of his results with us

I use this same forum skin for two other forums and the method of posting photos is not the same here as it is on the other two. Someday when I'm bored, Ill have to figure out how to include photos. As of now, all I can do is copy n paste. I'm a computer challenged boomer! I've got the link in my favorites about how to do it, I just haven't gotten around to it. Aaaaaaanyway, ya' seen one shiny hood, ya' seen 'em all!

is it me, or does the RIGHT side of that top photo look cleaner than the left?

Re: Let's see some DC2 Polish at work.

Hi Chris. I'll answer as i took the pics. I don't know which part you mean in particular.

If you mean within the working area, the right appears brighter because it is untreated and the left has more depth.

If you mean outwith the working area, beyond the tape then perhaps this will show you what it was like when the tape was removed:

I had to manouver this about quite a bit,to capture the swirls. Just taking a pic casually, doesn't always show defects. I hope that makes sense.

Great job, really like that paint color.

Thanks CC. I like 50/50's... I'm just not very good at taking pics. That excepted as I can lift and move it about.

That is on a relatively cheap car.. Renault Twingo.. I don't know if you get them in the States or Canada.

I've seen far worse on way more expensive cars. Very little OP. Maybe you can find that out. What brand is used for these? It is a nice paint. I think it'll be within the last 3-4 years.
