  • gold class car wash question

i heard that gold class car wash has polishing oils in it, now if i wash my car and it has wax on it how do the oils get into the paint, is it better to wash with gold class after claying the car to remove the wax so the car wash is actually on the paint and not the wax. i will wash the car to get the dirt off, then clay to remove wax and any other things on the paint then wash again so the oils can get into the paint?

right now i use nxt gen car wash and i was wondering if i would see a difference if i was to use gold class.

You are over thinking it a bit.

Think of it like a Quick Detailer, the car shines more after you used it, but you havent corrected the paint at all.

According to the Meguiar's Internet Support Staff, none of Meguiar's shampoo has any oil or polishing oil in it. They all have a very light conditioner that enhances shine, but nothing significant.

Unless you really want try out some Gold Class shampoo, you really wouldn't notice any difference between different shampoo. NXT car wash is a good product.

If you are going to clay your car, wash your car with a cheap shampoo instead. The advantages of using an expensive shampoo would go away after you clay the car anyway.

what i meant by the oils is the conditioners, same question though, they say the conditionerd condition the paint and stuff but what if wax is on the car how do the conditioners get to paint? what is the point of having different car washes, why dont they just make one really really really great soap instead of good different ones. i know the nxt car wash helps with hard water, but if i wont see a difference between the sopas whats the point of having different products if they are the same and if they arent the same what is the difference between the two car washes?
how does nxt prepare the surface for a coat of nxt wax and what do the gold class conditioners do?

Re: gold class car wash question

Don't think of Gold Class as conditioning the paint directly, but rather that the conditioners will not, over time, do anything to diminish the gloss. If anything, they will help to maintain a high gloss and slickness level for a longer period of time than a budget car wash will.

We make more than one car wash shampoo because people have different wants and needs. Some people just want something safe to use that won't strip wax but is very affordable - they may wax their car twice a year with Cleaner Wax and never do anything else to it.

Others are willing to pay more money for a premium wash that will help to enhance the finish after putting in hours and hours of work to bring up the maximum shine from a perfectly prepared surface. These people (often referred to as "MOL Members" ) tend to be a bit more fanatical about their finish and notice things from 30 feet away that the average consumer wouldn't see if it jumped up and bit them on the nose.

As with most anything else in life, there are entry level products (still of good quality though) and there are premium products. Think Chevrolet Cobalt and Chevrolet Corvette.

Go with the Gold Class - you won't be sorry. Fantastic car wash shampoo, and we've talked to people who will only use it to wash their cars even though they have other preferences when it comes to polishes, waxes, etc.
