  • ScratchX 2.0- Does it just hide scratches?

I have been having interesting experiences with ScratchX 2.0. I have used it on both my 04' 4Runner and my 01' Lexus.

On both cars, I have used them in areas where there are paint swirls/scratches. I have been using a Meg's yellow applicator pad, using the proper technique and lots of passion. After two or three applications, the scratches are gone!

Here is my problem: All looks good until I wash the car and the areas I applied the ScratchX are right back to where I started.
    What's wrong here?

Are these isolated scratches, or swirls? I haven't experienced this and I am not quite sure what is going on.

Is there any chance you could take some pictures of the scratches?

How are you washing your car?

Could be that your washing method is not good enough and you are putting swirls back into the paint.

This is usually how the "reappear".

I'll have to take pictures then.

Yes, these are isolated scratches. There is no mistaking them that they reappear right back where they were after I wash the car. The same as they were before, so no, they aren't new scratches that are appearing.

Are you sure you removed them?

              ES300

              Try This:

Go to work with scratch x 2.0 and remove the scratches as you did before. Once they are removed take Isopropyl Alcohol and wipe down the area with a MF. If they scratches reappear then they were just being hidden and not actually removed.

If it looks the same and the scratches are still gone, then you are instilling scratches while washing.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

              I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
              Remove swirls my friends.
