ScratchX and ScratchX2.0 in Europe.

Difference in Europe?

I bought a tube today.The shop just got it in this morning.I expected it to be the scratchx2.0,but is written as scratchx,but in the top corner says 'new and improved'.The tubes that were already on the shelf from before,don't have this written on it.

According to the shopkeeper,it has the same code as scratchx2.0.from his catalogue.

I still think it is a tube of scratchX,but a more up to date batch.But I don't know about what is written here in europe?
It's still the old shape tube.I can get a pic of the tube to confirm this.

There are 3 versions of ScratchX.

Original, New and Improved, and 2.0.

I have no idea if they changed any part numbers or not with each version. But the 2.0 will say 2.0.

That's what I thought.

Reading the thread nearby....I thought the difference with scratchx2.0 was the diminishing abrasives?

Anyway,the one i've got is the new/improved.How does this one compare with the other two?

ScratchX 20 - SMAT

You have the 1.0, the only difference is that they made some kind of improvement from the old one (first one), don't remember well but I think Meguiar's added an application method, I think it was the DA, but again I don't remember well.

New and Improved is ScratchX 1.0, so it is below SwirlX on the agressivness list. I believe it was made a bit more liquidy for use with a DA.

Thanks.you're correct.It does say on it,'By hand or DA'.

I didn't know it was below swirlX in it's aggressivness.

Is that really the only difference or does scratchX2.0 have a different makeup?

I'll give this first one a go anyway.

Even if a product don't work for me,I always find a good use for it somewhere else.

It is still a good strength paint cleaner in general, even for just a dirty part of the paint, wheels, etc.

I have used it in extra dirty spots before cleaner/waxing everything.

Interesting that ScratchX is used as a precleaner on dirty spots. Being that ScratchX is less aggressive than many polishes and cleaners, I always used ScratchX for touch ups and swirl elimination AFTER cleaning and polishing.

In general, you would want to go:

1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Clean
4. Polish
5. Wax

ScratchX would remove polishing oils from the surface of the paint if you used it after the polish.

Also, while milder that SwirlX, it is still stronger than ColorX or the Cleaner/Wax.
