Before UC I used 80 and 83. Basically I ended up with lots of shinny scratches. I didnt want to use anything more agressive since my car is 20 years old with its original paint (figured I would screw it up). So when Ultimate compound came out I took a chance. Well after two passes with the DA the finish is near perfect. I topped it with NXT 2.0. The finish looks better than new and almost glows. So the other day it starts raining and I got this pix...

Re: UC and NXT 2.0
Looks good Mr Bill.
Just so you know, click-able links are not allowed by new users until they reach 30 posts. I changed the link into an embedded picture, but it is quite large. If you could get the image location for a version that is 700 pixels wide or less and PM it to me I will change this for you.
Thanks!

Re: UC and NXT 2.0
Looks good, but still a bit dull IMO. The reflections just aren't as crisp as I would have expected. Maybe a few more passes with UC would help?
What kind of car is it? That doesn't look quite like Guards Red...Mustang?If a tree falls in the forest and there's nobody there to record the event, how can you be certain that there was a tree or even a forest to begin with?

Re: UC and NXT 2.0
Welcome to MOL, MrBill!
Beautiful FD you've got there..... original paint - wow!!
Justin, the reflections in the water drop shot aren't as sharp as you'd expect because the focus is on the water drops themselves - the effective distance to the reflection themselves is outside the depth of field of this shot, so they're simply not in focus. Had MrBill focused on the reflection then the water drops would have been out of focus.
Still, some nice direct sun shots would be nice to see the overall level of defect removal achieved. But you have to admit, that final beauty shot is really pretty!Michael Stoops
