  • NXT Tech Wax , not a protective coating

I was over looking at the MSDS sheets on Meguirs site and I noticed that NXT Tech Wax has listed use of Wax Preparation , but then #20 has a listed use of Protective Coating. Does this really mean the NXT is nothing more then a fine polish? It seems every other wax is either listed as a protective coating or a wax emulsion.

Mike can you help expalin this , or does any one else know why it's called this. Thanks

yeah I know many have had succes with it but I'm just curious as to why it's not called a protective coating on the MSDS. Any one one else care to comment on this. Mike if you're out there I'd like to get your take on this.

      Thanks

        Hi Doug,

By I spoke with the head chemist who wrote that description and I think your confusion stems from the word, preparation

By this he means formula, as in a wax formula. It is not a product for preparing the the surface. Sorry for the confusion.

Mike thanks for clearing that up , guess I should of had a second look at the word. Any particluar reason it's called a wax formula over a protective coating? Again thanks for clearing up my confusion.

I have no idea. I'm pretty sure the chemist who writes these descriptions would use those above terms interchangeably. His primary concern is creating formula, not writing MSD sheets so that people like you and me can dissect them and try to learn more about the formula than what he intends.

(Take my word for it, I'm always curious too, it's my nature since I like to polish paint and fall into a category of people Barry calls car crazy).
