  • Meguiars Products Too Expensive In New Zealand

I am a new meguiar fan and loving the products. So far I have used the Gold Class Wash, Colorx and Scratch X 2.0. I intend to buy NXT Tech Wax, Interior Detailer. Gold Class Leather Conditioner,Microfibre Cloth and maybe few other products but the prices here at the local dealer and even the supplier are sky rocketing compared to the prices in US$ on meguiars website. Even if I add shipping from US to NZ then too they are very expensive here. For e.g, Ultimate compound 16oz is NZD $49.00 which equals to USD $30.68 where as it retails for USD $9.99 on the website which equals to USD $15.95, even if you add $10 shipping from US it comes to $25.95 USD but I am sure if I am able to buy more than one produt form USA shipping will be economical. I have just taken one product as an example but if you pick any product the price difference is huge So, my appeal to Meguiars is to start accepting international orders on the website if possible.

    Thanks

    Hi there technoguy
I understand what you are saying, but this is what happens when we live down under lol...
As i have had my own polishing business down here in Cambridge I never buy my products from retal stors eg..supercheap,Repco ect ect ...
All my products come direct from Meguiars Auckland as for price .If the product is doing what you want it to do ,then thats the price we have to pay for a top quality product
As for trying to buy products from Meguiars overseas ,thay will not sell it to you because thay would be taking business away from the NZ branch... Been there tryed that ...

Sorry calculations were incorrect, correct calculations -
For e.g, Ultimate compound 16oz is NZD $49.00 which equals to USD $30.68 where as it retails for USD $9.99 on the website which equals to NZD $15.95, even if you add $10 shipping from US it comes to $19.99 USD = $31.93NZD

Thanks for the reply smurf but I still think retailers here in Auckland are charging too much.

Yep you are going to get "ripped off" when you buy stuff for screaming retail.

maybe if you or had a friend travelling to Jakarta, Indonesia, you could ask him to buy a few megs products here...
they do seem to be cheaper than in Australia and NZ...

                  for example if:
Ultimate compound 16oz is NZD $49.00 which equals to USD $30.68

then UC in Indo is Rp. 160,000.00 which equals to USD $15.88 which equals to NZD $23.19....
                  ....

But im in the same boat feeling the price difference of Meguiars in Asia-Pacific vs the US'

I love hearing about people across the pond dedicated enough to spend extra money on superior products. Members like Eddie and many South Asian users have mentioned how much more they pay for their products, but that is just a testament to how good a company Meguiar's truly is.

                      Thanks...

Yup, I would rather buy a thrustworthy product at a higher price such as Meguiar's, that I know I can thrust before buying...
than trying to buy other similar products that I am unsure of its quality but is cheaper...
