NXT 2.0 Polish first?

I have DC2 and would like to know if NXT 2.0 will adhere to that and if it is actually recommended to use after clay barring or pre-wax cleaner prepping?

Also, does NXT 2.0 have any cleaners in it in that I can top coat any sealer/polisher I use?

I tried looking around the forum and there is nothing official except from 2004 which is really outdated (5 step program)

The basic ideas wont change....

Yes, DC2 can be used before Nxt, and yes, the paint should be prepped first.

Most of the waxes have some very very mild cleaners in them, I think only #26 does not.

Hmmm....don't think the 5-step is outdated at all! It's the sorta regimen that should always be followed if you want a show car finish. The post may be old...but the basic idea is still the same. And now there are better quality products to use too!

I may want to use another glaze/sealer from Meguiars M0716 , will it work with NXT 2.0?

I used Mirror Glaze #7 with NXT 2.0 with AWESOME results!!!

I subscribe to the idea without a doubt, I meant outdated as far as what products are listed.

For example, what do you in place of DC1 since other items Meguiars has seem more abrasive?

Don't overlook DC1--it's a great product. Mainly a chemical cleaner, although it does contain diminishing abrasives. I actually used DC1 and my PC to remove some light-to-moderate oxidation on a vehicle today. It gave me a good "base" from which to use UC.

Well, DC1 (which is being replaced by SwirLX) is the mild cleaner, mainly for dirt, old wax, etc. It can be made a bit stronger if used by machine as mentioned.

If you found your paint had more defects to remove, you would step up to SwirLX. If that didnt do it, then you would go onto stronger products.

You still want to clean/polish/wax, no matter what strength of product you use.

Ok. I ordered all my stuff and this is my process for the weekend.


1. Wash
2. Clay Bar
3. (optional) pre wax cleaner
4. Mirror Showcar Glaze #7
5. NXT 2.0 (second coat Sunday)
6. Next weekend, wipe down and coat of Carnuba (pure)
