  • Application for Ultimate Compound

After months of waiting I have finally got hold of UC and SwirlX.
I notice on the instruction for UC that application method for UC should be circular motion? Is this the recommended method or otherwise?

At the meantime, I am still trying to learn the technique for both products.
My first try at both did not really remove the swirls. However, I did remove one deeper swirls or scratch.

I think u just follow the instruction. UC n SwirlX only use by hand or DA machine.

But I would like to try with rotary. hehehe...

Circular motion is the best way to do it...

yup. I will just follow what was stated.

the only machine that I can lay my hands on is only woolly buffer.
Although not recommended, maybe I will try UC with woolly buffer and see what is the outcome.

I used UC in circular motions except when tacking single scratches then I went against the scratch. But to be honest, I didn't get the scratches out anyway so I think my credibility is nullified

I think my foam applicators were too soft to remove the scratch.

well at least I manage to remove 1 light scratch. Now for the hard part.
To get the technique right to remove swirls.

After trying Ultimate Compound over the weekend, I would say that it did not remove the scratches. However, it did remove one water mark that I have which is less than 3months old.

I applied it in circular motions. With moderate pressure.

Just to add. For the SwirlX, it works well removing the swirls.
You could feel the surface smoothen once the Swirls are remove.
After working for about 15secs, you can feel that the swirls are slowly being removed.

                      yes.
I used the same technique on both UC and SwirlX for which SwirlX is successful but with limited success for UC.
I even tried applying in straight motions for UC but is not successful.
The water mark which I am able to remove looks like a typeII but I am not very sure about it.

yup. I find it strange too.
Either the product has got problem.( its "peach-like" colour and is not as thick as SwirlX ) or the scratch are too deep.
I have tried to use my finger nail to feel it but it did not seems to be deep.
Anyway, I will try again this weekend.

On a side note, the SwirlX smells like washing detergent.

How about a really good pictures of what you're working on and then a good focused picture of the scratches you're trying to remove?

UC works great, if it's not getting the scratches out it usually,
                            1. Scratches are too deep
                            2. Paint is too hard
                            3. Application technique needs to be tweaked

                              Re: Application for Ultimate Compound

Will UC give a great result when using Hand Use? Will UC give a better result than SwirlX?

Because SwirlX only made the swirl "vanish" a bit and light swirl, but deeper swirl/hologram can't leave from the paint.

                              Thanks
