  • Nxt x 2 for winter?

Will nxt x 2 last the ~3months of winter time weather we get in the midwest? Im going to prep for winter this weekend and still am undecided about what to use, its either going to be:
    nxt x 2
    20 x 2
or either of the above topped w/ 26.

    What do you think?

R&D has told me that NXT is Meguiar's best protecting and most durable wax, even better than #20 Polymer Sealant.

I have the utmost confidence in Meguiar's R&D.

      Robb,

I am not a big fan of layering. However, it does sound reasonable that a top coat of #16 should give you an added measure of protection.

I have been using NXT Tech Wax about every month or two on my own vehicles, so I am going to just try to get an addition coat of NXT applied right before the extreme cold hits sometime late in December. Sooner if it gets a lot colder earlier.

Since the NXT has worked so well, I really do not intend to top it with anything else. I think the NXT will do just fine for a few months. Especially since the surface of my vehicles now feel so smooth and slippery, since it has been conditioned with NXT so frequently.

That's great news! I guess the best list of products for ultimate protection is just NXT x2 and you'll be set.

          Hey,

Last year I was able to test Meguiar's Lab Sample E (now called NXT Tech Wax) over our brutual winter. We had a horribly cold winter with a lot of snow. The NXT held up wonderfully!! I would not hesitate to use the NXT over the winter. And that is coming from a guy known on the detailing forums to idolize #20 Polymer Sealant!

Yes...before there was NXT, there was #20 Polymer Sealant and I used it often.

              NXT Over the Winter

NXT has held up just as well as MPPP on the hood of my GTO. And prior to NXT Teh Wax, MPPP was considered to be Meguiars' most durable wax sealant.

For an extra measure of protection and slickness, you can apply the Spray
Booster Wax a few times over the winter. I dries very quickly so it should be easy to use in cold weather. MPPP takes much longer to dry in cold weather.
